Based on canon and headcanon for canon; some changes may be made depending on RP development or AUs.
Mild trigger warning for mentions of rape (of and by other characters).
Basics
Name: Jules Gabriel de Ferrier
Age: 18 very unsure about this, Kofuku no Hato seems to imply that he's younger but I can't figure out how to synchronize things
Sex/gender: male/male
Birthdate: December 19, 1862 (Sagittarius)
Birthplace: Honfleur, Normandy, France
Languages spoken: French, Latin, some Greek and English
Bloodtype: A
Height: 5'10" / 177.88cm this comes from a complicated formula of me googling average heights in 1900 and making him a bit above average
Weight: less anorexic than most of the cast 145 lbs / 66 kg
Dominant Hand: Right
Hair: Black, very straight, and smooth. He generally wears it in low ponytails tied with handkerchiefs or ribbons.
Eyes: Brown, despite what fanartists seem to think (I've seen green, grey, blue... they're brown, people). Also unusually small by Kaze to Ki no Uta standards.
Skin: White, and pretty pale. His ethnicity is entirely caucasian, and mostly French (although there's a bit of Spanish in there somehwere).
Other features: He often is mistaken for a girl by people who aren't used to Takemiya's art and characters that tend to be surrounded by more "normal" masculinity.
Occupation: Student, and later student supervisor at Lacombrade Academy. He has little trouble excelling at either, although it's questionable how much work he actually does with his job.
Residence: The dormitories at Lacombrade Academy. It's mentioned that he used to be Rosemariné's roommate, but presumably has his own room now that Rosemariné does.
History
Educational background: He had a home tutor when he was young, then went to the exclusive Lacombrade Academy where he got amazing grades and graduated early. Post-series, he goes to college.
Religious background: Roman Catholic, very passionately so -- he's not a blind follower, but there's very little he actively questions. His favourite saint is Mary.
Political background: I'm just gonna leave this here in case I feel like doing the reserach.
Financial background: Due to his father's death, Jules' family lost the money they had in his youth when Jules was about six. He was sent to a house of family friends, the Rosemariné's, and he and his mother were cared for financially by them (this is what's going on in his canon point) until he was seventeen and had a falling out with the youngest son, Arion. From there, he was supported by Auguste Beau, distant relative to the Rosemariné family, and then the father of his fiancée, Adelaide Constantine.
Proud of: His dedication to his family and friends.
Regrets: Not somehow keeping Rosemariné from being raped. No matter how much Jules detested him, he didn't deserve it.
Personality
Driving force(s): A strong desire to succeed... in the areas that he deems necessary.
Ambitions: To keep his family and loved ones safe and happy.
Currently wants: Money, control over Rosemariné, and at the same time for things to be like they used to between them.
Currently needs: To learn to forgive and forget, and to practice what he preaches.
Life philosophy: "To offer kindness and acts of self-sacrifice free of charge without exception and feel good about yourself because of it... that is how the world should be!" Spoiler: He can be quite a hypocrite about that.
Self image: This is not a thing he really thinks about because while on one had he logically knows he's accomplished a lot and has a lot of good traits, there's also a lot he can't let go of or escape from.
Dominant character traits: kind, intelligent, controlling, protective, observant, quiet
Myers-Briggs group: ISFJ
Alignment: lawful neutral
Learning style: Mostly visual and intrapersonal.
Intuitive/reasoning: Reasoning -- or, generally, overthinking.
Optimist/pessimist: Optimistic realist; while he wants everybody to live in harmony harmony oh love, he doesn't think it will ever happen.
Tense/relaxed: Tense. Some people might think that he's not as tense as he first seems, but he is.
Serious/carefree: Serious, unless he lets his guard down.
Leader/follower: Follower. He has a ton of leading capabilities, but doesn't particularly enjoy using them.
Organized/messy: Organized, although not at Rosemariné's level.
Fight/flight: FLIGHT FOREVER. He used to be a fighter, though.
Methods of coping: Tea. When something bad happens he drinks tea and ignores the problem.
Amused by: Idiots.
Saddened by: Seeing his loved ones hurt, especially when he's caused it or can't do anything to help.
Angered by: Bullies, especially rapist bullies.
Shocked by: Women in scandalous outfits. And anything else wildly different from what he's used to.
Offended by: People misunderstanding him or intentionally being misunderstood.
Annoyed by/pet peeves: People who don't try to help themselves and then turn to him for help. While he's happy to help his loved ones, all of them are people who work hard as well.
Frightened by: The thought that most of what he has, he didn't earn -- and that, therefore, it can be taken away easily.
Strengths/Weaknesses
Physical strengths: He. uh. Probably has strong legs for a bookworm?
Physical weaknesses: Everything. He's not the least bit athletic.
Mental strengths: Genius IQ, observant, charismatic (when he wants to be, which is rarely)
Mental weaknesses: Always thinks he knows what's best for people, slacker, manipulative
Emotional strengths: Cares deeply for his loved ones, protective, kind and polite
Emotional weaknesses: Extremely guilty conscience, can't let things go, doesn't care about most people one way or the other, judgemental
Opinions
How strong are their opinions? Pretty strong for the most part, mainly because he's not used to them being challenged.
How forceful are they about them? Usually not very, unless somebody he disagrees with is using their opinions to hurt somebody else.
Prejudices/biases: He's... a rich, sheltered Victorian boy.
First off, he's sexist by modern standards. The women he knows in anything more than passing are all family members or maids, so, combined with general beliefs of the time, he expects women to be in very traditional positions. That's not to say that he thinks that they should all be serving him, just that women are delicate and nurturing and it's a man's job to do the work that takes real strength or brainpower so his wife/mom/sister can sew and have babies. He does respect women, though, he just wants them to be safe and happy and not have to worry about things... which, played against modern characters, comes off as "get back in the kitchen".
He also tends to assume that anybody not white is a servant or a shopkeeper. He knows that some aren't, but right now they're more the exception to the rule.
He's biassed against idiots. They are useless to him, except as flunkies and such.
Possibly also relevant is the fact that he bases a lot off of first impressions, so he keeps his biases unless they're explicitly disproven.
By the way, this is the part I feel like I'm history!failing on the most, so if anybody brilliant wants to correct me...
Thoughts on romance/sex: He's very romantic! He believes in true love, although it's very rare and most people never get to experience it, or they do it can't take priority over duty. Thus, he's accepted that he will probably never have that, and will end up with some wealthy, high-class girl (especially with the whole kind of liking boys thing). Either way, though, he likes sappy romantic stuff.
Sex is... well. On one hand, he knows he's not supposed to do that until he's married and wants to make babies. On the other hand, he's very well-read and knows that it's something that people can enjoy even outside of marriage, and that despite what the church wants him to think, lots of people don't follow the "rules". From real life experience, it's clear that it can be fun or, on the other hand, completely traumatic.
Jules is absolutely not in a position where he wants to have sex with anybody, since he believes it should at least be an act of love (and even though there are people he'd like to sleep with, it would end up hurting them) but he also doesn't feel like it's his duty to keep other people from sex. If somebody chooses to misuse this beautiful gift from God, well, that seems improper to him but he's in no position to tell them not to. Rape and other sexual abuse, however, are horrible, horrible things that he certainly will try to stop.
Thoughts on drinking/drugs: Fine wine is delicious, but people tend to abuse it to forget about their problems. Drink in moderation, kids! Drugs are bad though.
Thoughts on violence: Pacifist, despite rumours of him being a gang leader in the past -- the fact that he associated with them didn't mean he supported them. Violence doesn't solve anything.
The best thing they or another person could possibly do: Make a selfless sacrifice for somebody that they truly love.
The worst thing that they or another person could possibly do: Rape.
Interests
Hobbies: tea, reading, opera, horseback riding, creeping people watching
Favourite...
Food/drink: fancy tea and any kind of desserts that go with fancy tea
Colour: indigo
Books: Greek and Latin classics, romance novels and poetry, the newspaper, the Bible
Music: Opera and hymns. Also enjoys modern music, and by modern I mean the romantic period. If he were from today, he'd listen to opera, showtunes, Christian rock, and the occasional fun pop.
Things to watch (TV, theatre, etc.): any kind of operas and plays
Weather: sunny days or lightly rainy ones
Time: sunset
Holiday: Easter
Place: parks and forests; there aren't any specific spaces he's attached to
Animal: peacock
Plant: honeysuckles
Academic subject: philosophy and language
Sport/game: horseback riding
Least favourite...
Food/drink: coffee
Colour: orange is so unclassy
Books: ones with strong opinions that he disagrees with or mean heroes that are supposed to be liked
Music: whatever poor people listened to
Things to watch (TV, theatre, etc.): fights
Weather: hail and that semi-cloudy shit
Time: right after classes, when it's the most noisy
Holiday: war-related holidays with no relevant celebrations
Place: Rosemariné's house, if he thinks about it too much
Animal: loud dogs
Plant: He just likes plants! But something ugly would probably be his least favourite.
Academic subject: history, but he doesn't hate it
Sport/game: the violent ones
Habits
Spends money on: tea and related memorabilia, books, cut flowers, gifts
Daily rituals: Wake up, go to classes, have afternoon tea, read, hang out with Rosemariné, sleep. His life is boring.
Dress (style, colors): Lacombrade's upper school uniform (blue dress shirt and pants, white shirt, fluffy white bow, snazzy vest) during the day. He usually wears variations of it after classes, such as the pants and shirt with slippers, a robe, and a frilly shawl. Pretty much the same thing on special occasions, but more expensive and with more frills. By the way, he has zero fashion sense; Rosemariné picks out his clothing. His coat is ugly.
Scents (shampoo/cologne/lotion/etc.): Lavender cologne, usually on special occasions. His soap smells kind of like flowers, too.
Eating habits: Often doesn't eat much at meals because he's full of tea and cake. Forces Rosemariné to eat.
Speech patterns: Rather proper, but not in a way that's hard to understand.
Cute quirks: I find his shocked expressions adorable.
Bad habits: None, he's too busy having a bad personality.
Nervous tendencies: Dramatic shoujo expressions. Other than that, he always seems very calm, although he seems to sweat a lot when he's nervous.
Etc.: Has really good posture!
Relationships
Most important people: MOMMY. Also Rosemariné and Gilbert.
Love interest(s): Rosemariné and Gilbert, both very repressed.
Lust interest(s): Rosemariné and Gilbert. He actually acknowledges this to some point.
Close friends: ...Rosemariné and Gilbert. (????)
Other friends: NPCS idk. He doesn't like most people.
Acquaintances: Most of the Lacombrade students, probably. Luce. Auguste Beau.
Disliked people: Rosemariné goes here, too. And Serge.
Enemies: Blough and anybody else who's horrible to Gilbert.
Family members: Mother, one elder sister (Cerdina, about five years older), father is deceased. Father's family is boring and stuffy and not very helpful, mother's family figures she's out of their hair now.
Family history: NOBLE AND RICH. Until Father died.
Relationship with family: He is such a mama's boy, I don't even. He really, really loves and respects her and everything she's done for him to the point that he does most things for her sake. He and his sisters love each other a lot, but they're not as close because he's away for most of the year.
Future family (kids etc.): He wants to get married and have kids! It's one of the reasons that he'd never run off to have some long-term scandalous affair with a man. Preferably adorable little girls that he can dote on and cuddle.
Kinsey rating: 4
Marital Status: Single (although he eventually marries the nouveau riche Adelaide Constantine)
Romantic/sexual history: Lost his virginity at fourteen to a girlfriend of sorts; things would have taken longer except that she was moving away, never to be seen again. After that, he decided to save himself for marriage.
A few years later, at ~16 (and before the canon point I play him from) he slept with Gilbert out of desperation to do something to comfort him. It felt nice, but he was much too distracted by fretting over Gilbert and trying not to hurt him to enjoy it at all. They never talked about it again.
Turn-ons: Long blonde hair and purple eyes this is canon I swear, pretty and elegant people in general, people that need his love and protection, rich people that own really nice or fancy things.
Turn-offs: The same things that he dislikes in friends, more or less. And people who are bigger creepers than him.
Kinks: Being able to please someone to the point that they're wrapped around his finger, romance novel language (idk), enthusiastic consent (in Kazeki, this counts as a kink). He's secretly fantasized about threesomes with a boy and a girl, and his dependency on others for finances becoming sexual.
Treats people: With distant politeness, for the most part. He knows that it's beneficial to be kind to people, but he doesn't go above and beyond that since he doesn't think that most people are worth his time. He treats his loved ones with distant devotion (seriously) and people he hates with passive-aggression. And sometimes just aggression.
Likes in a person: intelligence, kindness, similar interests, beauty, inner peace, doesn't hide bad traits
Dislikes in a person: idiocy (unless they are sweet, dumb, and usually female), lack of class, dis-favourable history
Wants to be seen as: A kind man who is worthy of respect from his peers, fear from his enemies, and seen as a constant source of kindness support to his loved ones.
Misc.
Advice that you, the mun, would give them: Your mother doesn't want you to manipulate people for her sake, so stop it. And go apologize to Rosmariné for the way you've treated him
Would they get along with you? We'd probably want to kill each other, he's far too conservative and suspicious for me to like in real life.
The most awesome thing they've done: Getting whacked by Rosemariné and barely flinching, saving Gilbert from suicide, finally not being an ass in the epilogue.
The time you wanted to slap them the most: When he tells Rosemariné to get over being raped NO DUDE THAT'S NOT HOW IT WORKS.
What would be the most awesome AU ever for them? MAGICAL GIRL. Also, a bad modern yaoi manga would be hilarious.
Boxers or briefs? BOXER BRIEFS
If they were in a 70s shoujo manga, how much would they sparkle? ...8|;;;
