Yeah, so I know I'm way overdue for an update. I suppose the best way to start is to break it down by day.
SATURDAY--I'm in Canada at this point with Laura, Nate, Jacqulin and Christine. We head into the city via subway (Toronto has the cleanest subways EVER!) and we meet Paul and James pretty much right away. About 15 minutes later, Zach and his 10 people show up and as a large collective mob of Calvin we stroll down the street towards China town. Once there, we find this really nice resturaunt whereupon, we eat. Our group seemed to be a big fan of the Chinese beer, which I thought was reallyl gross. Anyway, the food was really really good. Not so much a fan of the tofu, however.
Next, we just wandered around town for a while and then headed down to the water front (Lake Ontario...I think) there we proceeded to waste about 2.5 hours doing various things, but mostly just nothing. We did get some free Lego basketball player guys they were handing out.
Next it was off to Bloor street where some bubble tea was purchased and then we went to the big Roots store that was there. I almost bought this tee shirt that was $9.00 but, in the end I didn't. Nate bought this hillarious Great Britian hat which he wore the rest of the trip. About that time, we decided to wander into a not-so-fancy part of town and find somewhere to eat. Somewhere that served alcohol, of course. We found a place, and it was good fun, and the people who drank a lot shorted the rest of us on the bill....you know the story. And just as a side note, I was not in any way, shape or form, wasted.
Then the 5 of us in Laura's group headed back to her house and watched Chocolate--which I have reason to believe Nate did not enjoy.
SUNDAY: Went to church and basically ate all day. It was heaven for me, because as many of you know, Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday--so getting it twice is fantastic. Then we drove home and ordered pizza. Good times.
Now I'll just skip to Wednesday.
WEDNESDAY: After work, Geoff and I climbed in the Cavie and set off for Stevensville/St. Joe. We got there, ate with my mom and brothers and then left for the high school. We got to see all the Class A and B bands ( I think that's who we watched). John found us pretty quick, and my dad showed up eventually. Benton Harbor was there and were great fun to watch. They did everything from the Jackson 5 to Twista. Interesting. They were comments only, which was probably good since they didn't really so much MARCH much. Their majors were hillarious however.
St. Joe did the Beatles. It was alright, but I think they looked a lot better than they have in past years.
LHS rocked my world. I love the new beginning and the closing will be great when its clean ;) We got a 1, of course. After that, John, Geoff and I went to Steak and Shake (Pedro's was close :( ) and then it was back to Grand Rapids. P.S. I made it from Benton Harbor to Grand Rapids in an hour and five. That's pretty darn impressive for someone who "drives like an old lady" John Murhpy >:0
Anyway, that's all for now! Dorm retreat this weekend!
Happy Ending.
