Mama: "Oh this damp weather! Every joint I have aches! I have a splint on my knee, and... and... oh, this damp weather is the PITS!"

Traceroo: "Sad! I'm so sorry to hear it."

Mama: "I can't wait for this damp weather to move on. Does it bother you?"

Traceroo: "No... I'm not old."

Mama: "Oh. Well. That's true." And thankfully, she laughed!

In the car on the way home from lunch out with my mother, our conversation meandered onto me making a comment about various Christians kindly attempting to save my soul during my lifetime. This conversation followed:

Called my mom and invited her out to lunch today at our favorite local Chinese restaurant. We got to talking about the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin wall, and she started telling me about the Berlin airlift, and how well she remembers the news coverage from it. My mother and I were discussing the movie, "The French Lieutenant's Woman" which she TiVoed this week. I've never seen it, and my mother hadn't seen it in so long that she couldn't remember what it was about. Friday: Star Trek
On Friday, I managed to make my daily goal by walking 4.39 miles that day. I accomplished this by taking a 45-minute spin after work Friday afternoon. It was so hot! Even after being back in the a/c for another 45 minutes, and a cool shower, my face was still bright red for quite awhile! The walk was great, and I'm proud of myself ( Read more... )

Awesome thing of the day about having my mother local: She cooked lunch for me today. I had a gorgeous 15-minute stroll through my neighborhood in a straw hat in cool weather.
