As for your questions: "If the Christian belief in God is correct, what do you think is the relationship between restrictions on salvation, and the existence of free will? Would free will have any real value if there were not consequences to it? Therefore, has God restricted eternal salvation/entrance into Heaven specifically in order to give meaning to free will? I believe that God gave us free will so that we can choose to love him, serve him. He wants us to be able to decide if we want to follow his rules, do the thing he wants us to do, even though he knows it's what is best for us.
