Life in Colorado continues to be awesome. I made my first trip downtown today for a job interview. Although I'd been to downtown Denver once before on business in 2003, today I looked at the city with new eyes. Its architecture, neatness, and even the traffic pleased me! (Of course I'm cognizant that I'm currently predisposed to like everything around here.) I keep asking myself, "Will I ever find anything I don't like about this city?"
The interview went okay. It was just a placement agency. I really like the look of the job they have which brought me there, however. We'll see if anything comes of it.
I think I'll work on becoming a Notary Public here in Colorado since I've got time, and it doesn't look expensive. That'll look good on my resume, and be helpful at work eventually.
Been glued to Red Dead Redemption on the Xbox. Positively glued. I'm just enjoying the stuffing out of that game!
Saw both Twilight "Eclipse," and "Inception" this past weekend. I went to see Twilight with my new local girlfriend, Jose's wife, Kristen. Yay! I have a local girlfriend! We had such fun. The movie is my favorite of the three, so far; they keep getting better. I'm so totally on Team Jacob! Kristen is on Team Edward, so we had fun debating the merits of each suitor of the still totally interesting Bella. One note about that movie: BAD wigs and hair extensions all around! They were totally noticeable, and in fact bothersome, they drew my attention so much. I still agree with
elena23 that I like the character of Charlie, and the ways he amusingly tries to intimidate his daughter's boyfriend. Very realistically portrayed, I think.
And "Inception?" Well, if you haven't already gotten the message from social media, DROP WHAT YOU'RE DOING RIGHT THIS MINUTE AND RUN OUT TO THE THEATRE TO SEE IT, then my enormously positive review probably wouldn't sink in, either! I've decided that I'm a Christopher Nolan fan. Did you know he did "The Prestige?" I wasn't aware of that -- another good one! Really, I like everything he's done so far, and I want more. Suffice it to say, however: This one is worth getting a babysitter so you can see it in the theatre rather than wait for the disc. It's amazing.
My goal this week is to clear out our dining room area of the various boxes and items that need to go somewhere else -- mom's place, storage, just unpacked, whatever. My mother is already entirely unpacked, and she has plants and decorations up! I have some things on the walls, but there is so much squalor from unpacking, and cat toys everywhere, that the decorative effect is totally lost. Gotta work on that.
Right now it's off on a second attempt at Sam's Club, and to gas up the Rat Mobile. EXCITING!
