That interview this morning was not my best performance. I don't know if it matters since many agencies are just checking to see if you have a pulse and did not show up to the interview drunk. Nevertheless, I failed to be energetic and cheerful and memorable, I think. I was just off my game, which is too bad. Nevertheless glad that I went, one really never knows what will come from these things.
Not a single new job that I haven't already seen posted in the ads today. [Insert primal scream.]
Stopped at campus on the way home to take my fourth History test. I missed 6 of 30 questions for a grade of 80%. I got 93% on the previous test, and I felt really prepared for this one, so I was definitely hoping for better of myself here. I took my time and went over all my answers before turning it in, but it was my initial study that was flawed. That score isn't bad, really, and oddly enough, achievement of at least 80 consistently over all tests will earn me an A in the class, so, "That'll do, Pig." Good enough!
I availed myself of the campus library to check out a book about the Okie experience moving to California during the Dust Bowl for a book report for this class. It's a situation of which I was peripherally aware growing up in California, although I'm ashamed to say that it was through Californian prejudice against Okies who were taught to me to be about the social equivalent of inbred cannibal hill people. I'm interested to learn more of what it was like within that experience for them since it's pretty clear to me now that I haven't got much of a clue about it.
On the homefront, I made meatballs last night for the first time in more than a decade. They came out delicious, and even Ian, who is not the biggest fan of red sauce, didn't seem to object too strenuously. It was at least a nice departure from the same handful of dishes I make for us with overmuch frequency.
Ian has invited his Guildhall chums over for Halloween night. I guess we're going to watch holiday-appropriate movies and maybe play a board game. I'm in charge of meal and movies. Tough choice. Ian objects to "Bram Stoker's Dracula" since he did not care for Keanu Reeves' performance. One chum is a little squirrelly and probably would not best appreciate, "From Dusk Till Dawn," my second choice, appealing to the fun of sheer gore. Third choice is the suspenseful, "Frailty," but it just isn't as Halloweeny as the others... ah-ha! Duh. We should so totally watch, "Sleepy Hollow," even though I've already watched it once this season. That's the perfect choice.
But now, what to serve for dinner? Ian suggested serving regular foods but giving them themed descriptions for the guests. I'd kinda like to make something visually Halloweeny, though. I'll do a little research and see what I can come up with.

P.S. Figured it out: "Sleepy Hollow" and "Shaun of the Dead" with Million Layer Dip, Mex Style Deviled Eggs, and Taco Bar for Dia de los Muertos.
