My Side
As most of you know, Heather broke up with me last Thursday.
This is my view of the events. Don't judge her until you hear her side.
We've been dating for a while. We had our share of fights, some worse than others. We were on shaky ground, mostly (as I thought) due to lack of money, horrid job situation, and school stress. When Heather found out she had quite a bit of time open, she wanted to go visit Carl down near Madison, for a while. I assumed this was just to hang out, and I was never told otherwise.
I called most nights, with each night's conversation being decidedly more worrisome. Last thursday, after I asked her exactly what was going on, she broke up with me, stating numerous reasons, mostly due to my emotional abuse of her during our fights.
After having a few more chances to talk to her, I found out that this was forever... i.e. never a chance of being with her ever again. She requested to remain friends, but continually stressed that there was no chance. And she still said she loves me.
I tried to offer a few suggestions on how we might work things out, but none of them were to her liking.
At this point my life is in shambles, as I'm sure hers is. I've been hanging out with friends every chance I get, trying to avoid being alone for too long. This is most assuredly not a mutual break-up, as I honestly had no clue it had gotten this bad before she left, and was offered no final talk before she removed me from her life.
I don't know where to go from here, but I hope most of you will be with me.
