Profound statement I made today...
This came from my own head. I can't remember hearing anything similar to this.
"Technique should be the result from the pursuit of music. Music should NOT be the result from the pursuit of technique."
This comment came from someone being a technically minded player and completely a-musical. He said he didn't have the technique to be musical, yet he was bordering on being unmusical, and didn't demonstrate any attempt to be musical.
Any thoughts? Discussion provoking?
