A certain great what-if

It is an interesting thing to consider: how the men I've loved who've challenged me to be more than I am have in the end found me wanting, and gone.

This says both something about me and about them, I know. And this is not a harsh thing I consider.

But still, sometimes I wonder a certain great what-if.
