There's Something Wrong With This System

There is something very, very wrong with calling for patient benefits and hearing an electronic voice tell you that the insurance is not primary due to the patient being in end-term renal function.

There is just something very, very wrong with that.

I don't know which is more wrong, hearing a machine basically tell me that a patient is getting ( Read more... )

That's absolutely terrible. It just...scares me how cold they are about the whole thing. It's so inhuman, and the fact that the insurance company is not paying as much of the price as they can because the person is really sick. People spend so much money paying into insurance companies, and other people get fat on it, that you'd think the least they could do would be to NOT ditch the person when they need it most. It's just...I have no words.

I'm not really depressed, love. Just... disturbed and maybe a little disheartened that this is the state our society has evolved to.
