Canada settled a little ways from Romeo, a little frown crossing her features. It wasn't right how this place had brought children--not that she'd wish any of them to be destroyed with their worlds if the letters were true--but they were all alone. Children shouldn't be left all alone. His blatant attempts to cheer himself up made her smile.
"You're right. It's important to keep your spirits up."
Romeo looked up and managed a smile, "Hello miss," he nodded and fed Piccolo some more oatmeal, "Yep my friend Alfredo always says, there's only ever one day like today, so when all else fails keep living and we must keep our spirits up and everything will be alright."
Romeo nodded with another smile, "I always try and take his advice," Piccolo had creapt over the table and started to climb up the ladys arm. "Piccolo, be good!" Romeo reached over to grab the weasel, "Sorry miss!"
Canada turned around in her seat and sighed, "A polar bear who has once again wandered off. Probably begging table scraps from someone. I swear I can't keep her in place for two minutes."
"A polar bear?" Romeo's eyes widened, he had saw a picture of a polar bear in one of the books about animals Doctor Casella had shown him but he had never seen a real one before. He looked around trying to spot her.
Canada saw how his eyes lit up and he looked all around and she hid a smile. Oh she had to find Kumalio for him now. She stood, glancing around for the ball of fur.
"Oh I see her--just a moment, I'll be right back!" She darted off and returned carrying a bundle that just fit in her arms.
"Wow she's small! Is she a baby?" Romeo asked, because the polar bear he had seen in the book had been bigger. He moved closer to look, being careful to keep his hands away incase she bit, "Hello Kumago!" He said as Piccolo hid down his shirt.
Kuma eyed the porridge before nodding and starting to eat it. Did we mention nation's pets are a bit...special. She hasn't spoke yet so count yourself lucky Romeo. Her head pops back up at the question and to answer she bumps her head against Romeo.
Romeo giggled again as Kumago bumped against him and he started stroking her head gently. Piccolo was still hiding, that might be a good thing because Romeo didn't know if Polar bears ate weasels.
"Oh, I'm Romeo miss," He said to the lady remembering his manners finally.
"You're right. It's important to keep your spirits up."

"That's awful wise. Most adults don't even get to the point where they can realize that."

"And you are very clever to take his advice. Optimism is important in life!"

"It's perfectly fine, just don't want Kumago to get jealous. She's been know to bite from time to time. Despite my every word not to."

"Oh stop that, I feed you enough. She's just a cub. Lucky really, any bigger and I'd have had no clothes at all."
