SLAB LEAK!
Oh holy schmuckface, this is going to be interesting. And pricey.
Floor in the kitchen has been feeling warm. Then this morning my feet squished in the carpet leading to the garage. I peeked into the laundry closet (which shares the kitchen wall) and voila! Puddle behind the washer. For any of you who remember THIS messy story we are in for more of the same, possibly worse.
We tore out some more drywall and looked for the source of the leak. Upon further examination we discovered a swirling pool of hot water at the base of the hot water pipes. Water clearly gurgling up from below. *SIGH*
So it looks like we're going to have to remove concrete and go after the leak sub-slab.
Wailing and gnashing of teeth.
I have cheered myself up by revisiting some of my old LJ posts And realizing that, yes, I usually do survive these things. Let's hope the trend continues.
