I still haven't had my operation, but I will soon. Since I'm the main caretaker of our two dogs, they'll be boarded at a kennel for about a week while I'm recuperating. They've never been away from their human family since they were 13 weeks old, and I'm going to worry about them. My dog, Ginger, is especially super sensitive and she's going to think that I've abandoned her.
I haven't been posting on Livejournal much because if I were, most of my entries would be complaints and cries of frustration and puzzlement. I come from one of those families where stoicism is considered the normal behavioral mode. Anything else is like the boy who cried wolf too many times.
My 91-year-old Mom will be alone for only about a day and a half. Luckily, she's quite independent and prepares her own meals, dresses herself and so forth, so she'll be fine.
My pansies did great this year, and some are still blooming. I harvest seed pods daily so that I can grow another crop next year.
I'm working on a painting that I've tentatively titled "Cancer." I know, it's a bit forward and off-putting. Maybe I'll change the title. I like how it looks so far.
