ACen, Ultraman, and usual current-toku ramblings...
Ah, wow, it's been a while since I've posted to this, been busy with work, storms that have popped up(though nothing severe like in other areas), and getting ready for ACen which is next weekend. :D
Have still been watching tokusatsu of course, though lately I've been on a major Ultraman kick. I really liked the Hayata series, even if it was from the mid-60s, and been kinda going from there. Watched some of Ultraseven, but I kinda wanted to get on with some of the other series so I jumped ahead to Ultraman Jack(also callled 'Return of Ultraman'), and his human host Gou Hideki. I was actually drawn in in the first few eps so I watched the whole series, it was really good. I didn't know it would be so dark though, esp in the later eps where the personal life of Gou would be so affected. I did like seeing that they brought Moboroshi's and Hayata's actors for one ep too.
Kinda skipped through a few more series' eps to see what they were like, though I know I'll go back and watch when I can. I wanted to see what the more modern series would be like, so I'm now watching Tiga. The opening song is very cool by V6, and even Daigo is played by V6's Nagano-san. I'm actually liking the series so far, so I may watch the whole series. But I have to say after reading some of Gaia's and Mebius' summaries, I think I might skip to those after a bit more of Tiga, and revisit Tiga at some point too.
Of course I'm still watching KR OOO and Gokaiger, the Shinkenger two-parter was really cool with Joe's past(with Marvelous stealing in), and how the writers are making Mavelous more and more like Luffy. ^_^ I can't wait for more of their pasts, esp 'Doc' Don's. ^_^
KR OOO... all I can say is *___* I really like the PuToTyra form, but the price he had to pay to get that... Poor Eiji. :/ Definitely in the last third of the series, when stuff comes hitting hard, and this series is being no exception. Starting to hear about the rumors of the next KR (40? Fouze?), but I'll wait till more info comes out...
As mentioned, ACen is coming up, and I've been readying my cosplay(as well as brushing up on toku). Bringing Phillip again, though what I want to wear for our tokusatsu panel and the photoshoot is Takaoka Eiji wearing his black coat(I'm perhaps interested in the silver coat, but the cost of making it.... *___*) I can't wait to do the panel with Alias and Cortney, though it'll be interesting to see how many people we can pull in at 9am on Sat.
