Well, I went ahead and canceled the hotel rooms while I'll be in Kalamazoo, only to reserve them at the same hotel again... And I am actually much happier now about it. :)
What happened was, I called the Michigan-hotels website to reserve my hotel near where I'll be taking the class, and that caused the whole mess I wrote about a few weeks ago. Then I found out my class will only go til the 10th, so I won't need it for that night. I called the website people to cancel the room and get my money back, only to find out they don't refund ANYTHING (unless you cancel your whole reservation) from your hotel stay. So I went ahead and canceled from them, and should be getting my money back minus $25 (for their 'fees') within a few days(hopefully - I personally think they are a scam anyway).
Then, I called the hotel directly(which I SHOULD have done from the start since the rooms are cheaper than what the website people promised), and got the rooms with no problems and no 'policies read to me' or anything like that, plus I pay once I get there(which is also what I originally wanted from the start anyway.
Lesson learned from this: Just contact the hotel directly to make reservations and don't ever try to go through a third-party website.
And we finally got rain today, even if it was enough to get things a little wet. I feel a little like splurging for lunch before I go to work, and I need to get some gas into my car as well. -_-
In other news, Farrah Fawcett lost her battle to cancer this morning... ;_;
