You don't know me well at all, I actually started to watch your journal for your sketching updates, but I was wondering if I could ask you a question before I jump the gun here.

So, you're voting Yes on Prop 8 because Marriage is a religious union?

Yes, I believe marriage is a religious union.
But people who don't believe in a god get married all the time. Why can't gay couples? - is kind of what I'm saying.

Okay, still slightly confused. Are you saying that you don't want Same-Sex Marriage because marriage is a religious union and that religion and homosexuality can't go hand in hand at times?

I really don't want to put words in your mouth or anything and I'm just trying to see what side you're coming from! I hope you're not offended with me asking questions! ^^;

lol, questions are fine! Really, there's nothing to be offended over a discussion.

And yes, I believe religion and homosexuality does not go together; at least all the religions I'm aware of (may or may not be the whole picture). Now, I'm not a crazy christian or anything. I hardly have religious views of my own, even though I've gone to church all my life. So, I'm saying that as a bystander AND as someone who knows why the crazy christians say the things they do.

See, that's what America needs; a LEGAL marital contract....nothing to do with religion.

And I think religion is all made up, so people make it to whatever they want it to be to suit themselves better, and they think it makes everything they do that much more prominent because it's in the name of something greater. Now, that's kind of pessimism to the extreme, but I used to be an English major and we got our grades depending how well we convinced our readers that the elephant was a cat. ANYTHING can be interpreted to be anything else. That's why I think religion is such poppycock, especially catholicism, where everything is interpreted to you by the pope.

I agree 100% with you on religion. One of the many reason's why I am an Athiest. You can't just pick and choose the good parts and the bad parts you wanna follow in the Bible, but a lot of people do.

Saying that though, there are some sane religious people out there... some. Like my friend- who, as I said, is very Christian, yet is totally fine with homosexuality and is very good friends with an Athiest- me! xD

But the United States does not have a Legal Maritale Contract?
