(no subject)
Ok here is another update. I am terrible at this. I know I suck at life. But the facebook is just so much more addicting that I spend too much time on there. This update is for Misty, cause well Misty needs something to look at once and a while and well....Misty is wicked cool.
Its finals week here at BC. My load isn't overwhelming. I have a presentation to give tomorrow evning. I am not terribly concerned however. The worst I will do is come away with a B, I would however like the A, so I will try to make it good. I then have a final in multivariable calculus. I have no doubt I will fail, why would this exam prove to be different from any of my other exams. I will study, and I will try hard. But I am a realist.
I gave my final last week, I got about the grades I expected, and once again my wednesday section outdid my monday section. Although I feel ccomplished for the semester. I had one student send this to me, "Thank you for everything, i really enjoyed your lab. i wasnt too excited about taking a lab, but you made it fun." Thats what matters to me. I ended up really enjoying teaching. Its something I never really considered as a career until recently. So I may look in that direction. Who knows.
Socially things have been good here. A core group of us goes out regularly, and apparently we are cool enough that more people want to hang out with us. Who knew? I certainly did not. I made a few friends out of my class that I tought as well, which is nice to have.
This weekend I am driving back to New Jersey to attend the christmas party of my former company. It will be nice to see some of those people down there again. I will be turning right back around and driving back up here Saturday morning. I want to be around to help my kids out before their lecture final which is next Monday. I am giving a review session for the exam Sunday night, I am actually looking foward to thise to be honest with you.
I am applying to be an RA next year, I really hope I can get a position, it will help me out a lot financially. Plus I think it would be a good environment for me to be in. I really like being around people a lot and a dorm will provide that for me. Plus I think college kids are fuin and creative and would love to be around them again while I can.
Winter break is almost upon us and I am hoping to catch up with a few people in the short time I am home. Its weird how small things like facebook reconnect you wiith people you haven't seen since you graduated high school. Not that I particularly wanted to lose touch with people, it just happens. And then after a few years you stumble upon each other on a college directory website thing and boom you are talking again and following what each other are up to. So I plan to meet up with Alison and Kelly at some point back in Lewisburg. On a random note I found that like 3 people I went to high school with are living in Boston now as well. I am currently trying to get in touch with them as well. Not to mention trying to get to see Tommy Misty (hopefully) and Sheri over break. Then back to bean town for the rest of the hooliday and to try and get a part time gig some where or something.
Let me know if anyone will be in Boston over New Years!!
