Am I leaving BuffyWorld? Uhm, not exactly. But I won't be able to go there anymore by the end of this post. You'll see why. I'll even make this public so the administrator herself can read it. Please, read all of it because I REALLY want to get my point across

Yeah, LJ is. I'll miss BuffyWorld...But I really can't take back anything I said. It's all so true...and someone had to say it bluntly enough so the point would get across.

I have what I want from BW- my loving and wonderful friends. I guess that's all I need from it now.

Wow. What a crappy way to run a forum. I mean sure, mine doesn't have "TEH BIG 2000!1!1!!11!", but dude, people get along there, and I haven't had to ban anyone (except this one guy who *really* creeped me out - but that's beside the point :P) in the year or so it's been running.

Good for you though, for stating your opinion. It was well-put :)

I know. It sooo is a crappy way, and I am soo disappointed in how it's being run. :(

I wouldn't care if any forum that I ran had 20, 200, or 2000 members, as long as they got along.

For what it's worth, Amber - I'm so with you when it comes to the freedom of speech. I mean LJ accounts are private and not connected to BW. I am really surprised by all this because I have only been to Finnish forums before. And at Finnish forums all members do is bitch and critisize admins and mods and the whole forum - they can even do that at the forum itself, and not be banned or taken their rights away. As long as the critique stays matter-of-fact and is not rude or offending. :s But maybe I am just used to more democratic way of things, then.

Anyway, you are a brave person, to fight so hard on the things you believe in. Take care!

Thanks, Kirsi. :) It is ridiculous that we are being attacked for posting our opinions in our own journals, which are almost like diaries, you know? And isn't that the point of them? To show your feelings? Colour me confusd. :s

That's sort of what happened to the lost forum. I was totally in love with it, but the admins started making stupid rules and changing things that the majority of the members didn't want changed. So I ended up quitting it.

I agree with you, being restricted or banned from things you say on livejournal is completely ridiculous for a forum. I understand not anting forum ashing within the forum itself, but everyone deserves somewhere to speak there mind. The rep issue and calling a member pathetic, those kinds of activity shouldn't be tolerated no matter who is committing it.

But now I'm sort of sad about this cause I got an account at BuffyWorld. And I'm not really active now but I was hoping in the future I would be. *sigh* I guess I'll have to give up on my dreams of finally finding a forum I can belong to, and just hang out with the cool people on lj. :)

I know! It's completely ridiculous that I can't express my feelings without getting banned or having my VIP rights revoked. It's sickening. It is my JOURNAL after all!

Ah. :/ See, this is what I tried to tell the admin and ex-admin while posting to them in the "Goodbye" thread- they're driving away more members than they think they are. They say that they want the minority happy...well since when does insulting members keep the minority happy? Colour me confused.
