I'm fucking lifted

Paxil is really crazy, man. I just read through the possible side effects it can give you, and identified the one I am currently enjoying as "hypomania", which is like mania but less so, and everyone who writes about it says its loads of fun. I just wish I wasn't at work so I could go spazz out in Central Park ( Read more... )

that was the best ad for Paxil I've ever encountered. I know there's a downside. but still.

Yeah, I'm totally normal now, so I think I'm going to stick with the Paxil after all, but reduce the dosage first.

We'll see how it goes.

Did you have any hypomanic experiences? I chatted up this kid last night who said he took Paxil and would get that feeling occsionally, but it wasn't a constant thing.

The thing is, it certainly can't be described as entirely unpleasant. Damn, was I crazy yesterday.

Have you been taking it long? Most of the time side effects of medications only last for a week or two....until the medication is in your system.

OMG, I forget, you're a pharmacist, right? Or a student in pharmacology, or something-

I've been taking it for 2 weeks now, with a break for 2 days last week when my bag (along with my Paxil) was trapped at the Met Life building after the blackout.
Feeling fine today, and I took a lowered dose last night. Is this all normal?

It isn't good to stop the medication---but of course there was nothing you could do about it----and days wouldn't let it out of your system.

Are you on the 20mg? Also, there is an extended release that has been out for a while......
You should always consult your doctor before chaging your dose of medication. When you have time I'd leave a message at the doctor's office; it is important to have good communication between you and the doctor's office---better for you in the long run.

hmmmm see, that whole doctor thing is a touchy subject, due to my utter lack of insurance.

My Dad's an Emergency room physician off in rural butt-fuck, Wisconsin, and he hooked me up with some phone-chats with the psychiatrist at his office after I started having panic attacks. The psychiatrist reccomended Paxil, wrote out a prescription, and my father mailed it out to me along with some wonderful lorazapam.
I've been taking 20 mg; I just figured on taking 10 mg last night because of being crazy. I'll go back to the 20 presently.

How was YOUR last night? (just read yr post). Sounds fun...

Long term effects from paxil (paroxetine) anonymous December 7 2003, 04:02:53 UTC
After being on paxil (a.k.a aropax (commercial), paxtine (generic)in Australia) for 4 months and feeling flipped out and running round jumping down stairs, playgrounds. almost after 2 weeks on it i started getting blurred vision, fatigue, irratibility, many C.N.S problems. thinking it was just the withdrawl i stayed on it for a few months. no releif. i then changed to celexia to help with the withdrawl. 3 months after not being on anything i feel like my eyes are lazy, feel flipped out,a nut case and i'm in the process of being diagnosed with chronic fatigue syndrome. should i wait any longer before confirming permanant damage? Oh heavens, I don't know. Quite possibly not; I don't really know too much about it.
So you're not on anything now?

i'm not on anything at the moment. my brain feels scrambled and i feel like i'm having after shocks of mania without all the super fast thinking and mental clarity that i onced loved on paxil. i feel fatigued and need around 14 hours of sleep in order to feel sane. i cant look people in the face and i feel like ive got tourettes or some sought of permanant mood or psycotic disorder. hopefully i have no permanant damage and it just a matter of my brain healing.i'm taking a year off study and i'm on disability social security. wish me luck. Brendan.
