So today's thrilling instalment in our Professional Issues lecture resolved around morals and ethics. So naturally (of course?) there was quite a bit of discussion on philosophy, and a bit on the history with famous philosophers. Now this was all well and good, as it set up some essential background of western philosophy for the rest of the lecture. Naturally, various names popped up. This, additionally, was also all well and good. But the really good part, the reason I actually bothered to get up and write something today was the effect of these names being spoken. Looking at famous philosophers, names like John Locke appeared on several occasions. And... every. single. time. it. did... there were whispers from the back, mostly involving Lost. There were other names (notably, David Hume, or our favourite renaming, Desmond, brother) which popped up and elicited similar responses. Good god, people!
But, it brings me nicely to this. WHAT!?
