A/N: I've been laid up due to being ill, so I figured I might as well finish up some fics I had laying around. Not great, as I'm pretty rusty.
Finn knew Kurt kept secrets, he was pretty sure everyone knew Kurt kept secrets, but Finn had no idea he was some sort of Fort Knox's of secrets. Hell, he had found out about Sam and Karofsky and their secrets that Kurt had harbored, but he was floored by the sheer amount of others who came forward in admitting they had confided in Kurt at some point and how he had kept their secret. So if Kurt was keeping everyone else's secrets, who was keeping his?
It was after Kurt had his massive anxiety attack and they were sitting around together trying to process what exactly had happened when Finn starts in on the whole Fort Knox’s of secrets things. He shares the Faggy-gate story too much disapproval. Kurt at any time could have told the rest of the club what had happened, why exactly Finn dressed up in a red shower curtain, and he would have deserved whatever came of it. Instead of telling everyone what exactly was going on, because the others could tell something was up, he chose to hurt quietly and keep the secret.
Mercedes admits that after the Beautiful performance in the gym, Kurt had apologized to her for being insensitive and she had admitted to him that she had been starving herself, that Quinn knew, but what Quinn didn’t know and that she had confided in Kurt was that she had been seriously looking into the pros and cons of weight loss surgery and had been planning to talk to her parents about it. He had managed to talk her out of it, telling her she was beautiful and that the song she picked was an absolute expression of herself. That she felt dumb and decided she wouldn’t go through with it. Kurt never told a soul. Also, she was fairly certain they wouldn’t allow a teenager to have that surgery, but she hadn’t been thinking clearly then.
Santana quietly told them that she had confided in Kurt about her boob job before she actually had it done. She had run into him after her initial consultation and while he had expressed that she was beautiful just the way she was, and cautioned her that she might regret it, it was her body and he would support her in whatever she chose to do. She actually called him after the surgery to keep her company and he did without judgment. He never told anyone about it, and even when she was catching flack at school, never said a word about warning her against it.
Mike rubbed the back of his neck laughing insecurely before telling them that Kurt knew he wanted to be a dancer before he even told Tina. Kurt had walked in while he was in the middle of a dance routine and simply said: “When I see you on stage one day, I can say I know him.” Mike went on to explain how he broke down and told him how his parents were so insistent he be a doctor or a lawyer or something they could be proud of and how he was so scared to defy them. When he fought with Tina over his parent's expectations of him, Kurt had not breathed a word to anyone about what he said prior.
Artie had sheepishly come clean about after his and Tina’s break up, he showed up on Kurt’s front lawn and did a practice run of his say anything moment. He figured that if Kurt thought it was charming, Tina would for sure. Kurt had come out to the lawn and talked him down from his silly idea and that he managed to keep his dad from saying anything too, though Artie admitted Burt gave him awkward looks anytime he went over now. It was really a rather mortifying moment, but Kurt just brought him into his home and made him a snack. Kurt never mentioned it again.
Puck’s admission shocked them all. Kurt had visited him in Juvie. After Mr. Schue had told the others that he was in Juvie, Kurt was the only one who actually tracked him down and visited him. That when all the insanity between Karofsky and Kurt was going down, he meant it when he said Kurt was his boy and he’d be leading the charge because Kurt had been there for him and never judged him for his stupidity. Never asked for an explanation, just came to see him and how he was doing. As far as Puck was concerned Kurt was his boy now.
Quinn shares the story of how Kurt pretty much put her gaga costume together. How he allowed her to take all the credit for his creative work, simply because. How she had gone to him upset that she couldn’t come up with a good enough idea, and how she desperately needed help. She quickly throws in a gentle jab at Rachel about not as much as she did though. That Kurt never for one moment let on to the fact that he had in any way created the look and allowed her to take all the credit for her outfit.
Rachel tells them about the time she called Kurt at two in the morning sobbing. That her dad’s had a fight and one stormed out and she didn’t know what to do and that she had seen that Kurt had been active on facebook twenty minutes prior so she called him. She hadn’t actually expected him to pick up, since you know, they didn’t like each other then, but he did and he wasn’t cold with her. He was concerned she was calling him at two in the morning and let her cry and vent about the situation. When she finally calmed, he didn’t give her any advice or tell her what to do, he simply told her his line was always free when she needed it. How he never ridiculed her about her late night call or how she was crying.
Finn was quiet for a few moments before speaking again.
“So if Kurt knew all that about all of us, why didn’t we know Kurt suffered this much from anxiety?” No one had an answer because after all, Kurt was the Fort Knox of secrets.
