Summary: Matt and Julie return to Dillon for Christmas, and Tim insists on a bachelor party
A/N: written for the wonderful crowandfog from the prompt: It's about getting to spend the rest of my life with my best friend.

Matt can't really blame Julie for being nervous when he tells her Tim Riggins wants to throw him a bachelor party. He's sure images of the former starting line-up of the Dillon Panthers trashing the Landing Strip immediately comes to mind, but Tim swears to Julie that it's going to be laid-back, just a couple of old friends hanging out and having a few beers, and, since Tim doesn't really lie to Julie, Matt believes him.

So of course Tim immediately drives Matt to Dillon's only strip club where Landry, Street, Smash, and Billy are already waiting, shouting greetings as they lift their beers.

“You said we were just going to hang out,” Matt pointed out as he takes a seat, Smash passing him a bottle of beer.

“Is there a better place to hang out than where there's naked women?” Billy asks rhetorically.

“Look, Seven, as your best man - “

“Um, I'm his best man,” Landry pipes up.

“As your best man,” Tim continues, acting as if Landry has not spoken, “I have to make sure you remember that there are options available before you tie yourself down forever.”

“At this point, his options are 'marry Julie Taylor' or 'get murdered by Coach,'” Smash laughs.

“All I'm saying is this: you're twenty-two years old. You really want to tie yourself down with a wife and kids?”

“Don't listen to him, Saracen,” Street orders, holding up his left hand, his wedding band catching the light. “Best thing I've ever done.”

“Amen,” Billy agrees. “Mindy and the kids, they're why I get out of bed in the morning.”

“You get out of bed in the morning because Mindy would set it on fire if you didn't,” Tim retorts.

Billy finishes his beer, waving over the waitress for another. “Touche.”

“C'mon now,” Landry says. “Matt and Julie are meant for each other.”

“Thank you, Landry.”

“Probably because they're both complete messes when they're not together.”

Matt half-heartedly kicks his best friend in the shin. “You're such an ass.”

“What? The second you two aren't together, you start banging your grandma's nurse and she starts having affairs with professors - “

“Yeah, okay, I get it!” Shaking his head as he takes a swig of his beer, Matt offers, “I love her.”

“Julie's great, man,” Street says. “I'm happy for you.”

“Hey, I love Julie,” Tim assures the group. “This isn't about Julie as Julie. This is about Seven giving up his freedom before he's even had a chance to see what's out there.” Leaning forward, he reminds Matt, “You've been with her since you were sixteen. There are millions of girls out there - “

“But they aren't Julie.” Matt shrugs. “It's not about how many girls I can sleep with, Riggins. It's...It's about getting to spend the rest of my life with my best friend.”

The table falls quiet for a moment before Smash raises his bottle. “Well, then, to Saracen and Julie.”

When Matt stumbles through his grandmother's front door at just after two, he finds Julie asleep on his bed, sleepily turning towards his body as he falls onto the mattress beside her.

“How was your party?” she asks, tucking herself against his side.

“Good.” Matt presses a sloppy kiss to her forehead. “I love you.”

“I love you more,” she returns before slipping back to sleep, her long hair falling across her face.
