It's that time again guys! Let's discuss!
This chapter broke my heart, but what else is new?
Gah, every time we get a chapter that focuses on Vincent I end up loving him even more. Even when he's doing bad things! I can't help it. *hangs head in shame*
(
How do I love thee, Vincent? Let me count the ways... )
It was me who said Alice is probably a Baskerville. After all, she was locked in Baskerville tower, mm? And she looks like Glen. And she licks her wounds to heal them like Lottie does. There might be something to that.
"Your very existence made someone close to you suffer." …Dang, I predicted this tendency of Leo's way back when I wrote "Lavender."
The idea that someone could change the past to make Vincent's first breath be his last reminds me vaguely of the idea that Oz might have been switched with another baby. I'm keeping this in the back my mind for future reference, since it might turn out to be useful.
Page 20-21 puzzled me a little. Vincent is 'thinking' to himself "You accepted his help because you didn't have a choice" (in reference to Duke Nightray accepting help from Yura Isla, I believe), then suddenly there's a memory of Elliot, and Leo is coughing and looking horrified. I wonder what that's all about. Did Vincent share that thought out loud and it reminded Leo of Elliot, and how Leo accepted Humpty Dumpty's help because he had no choice? Then is Leo barfing?

Pfft, go away, genius. We don't need 99% accuracy fortune tellers who predict the whole series around here ):<
I thought Vincent had simply told Leo what he had been thinking at the time, which made the poor dear think about Elliot. I think he was just covering his mouth in his guilt/pain/suffering, similar to the way Gil did in chapter 22

Yes, I think it's likely that Vincent was thinking those thoughts with Duke Nightray, but actually voiced them to Leo. Kind of like how you are telling a story to someone about something that happened, and then you tell them what you were thinking, but didn't actually voice when the story originally happened.
Yeah, it's likely that Leo was covering his mouth in horror/suffering, but the cough thing threw me off. I immediately thought of Break, and wondered if Leo is harboring an chain contract of his own.

Ah well. Gloat all you want. I did the same thing later in the post! XD
Though, when I linked chapter 22 to you, I noticed the similarity in those images. Both were brought about by memory of the person they love most (<3), as well as extreme guilt for causing the incident. More Gil/Leo parallels.
Ooh, Break. I didn't think about that at all. What if Leo is contracted to a strength-zapping chain? Oh but Break's coughs were hacking, and would only occur after or during the use of Mad Hatter. We would know if Leo had been using his chain just then... probably. He was at a research facility for chains, after all... >_>
