Okay, so perhaps it wasn't a good idea to cook at all. That was the second dish she'd burnt, and she figured it was time to give it up. It was a good thing that she had the hindsight to tell people to bring food. Lloyd had arrived earlier with his less than famous finger sandwiches and had gone off to the cafe to order some other (better) food for the party. Still, the failure stung a little. Oh well, she had enough time to clean up the mess and get the stench of the burn out.
When Lloyd came back with the good food, he helped air out the place and put up streamers. He even decorated Noishe with a necklace made of the streamer material, doing the same with himself and a reluctant Raine. He turned to the professor. "You think he'll be surprised?"
"I hope so," said Raine as she finally got rid of the stain of where the fire had licked the stove a little too hotly. "Even if he isn't, I think it's still nice to have everyone together again to celebrate."
((FINALLY. I'm sorry.))
