Thanksgiving is almost over...I hope everyone had a good one. Ours was pretty low-key. We watched the parade, a little bit of the dog show (does Fred Willard write the script for John O'Hurley? seriously, it's like a parody of a parody), then went to the Chinese buffet. It was okay. Not very crowded, which means they don't turn the food over as often as I'd like. We went home, watched some tv, played Trivial Pursuit, and listened to
"Alice's Restaurant" (family tradition from way back) and now...here I am.
I think we're going to get up and go to Kohl's when it opens at 4 AM. Why? Just for the hell of it. Just to say we did it. Well, there's a practical reason, too. We "adopted" 3 kids on
Santa's Link to Kids and they all need coats, so we can get a good deal on kids' coats and other things. This is the 5th year in a row (I think) I've done Santa's Link. I usually only pick girls, but this year since Frank was going to help me shop, I thought he might like to shop for boy stuff, so I found a family with 2 girls and a boy. We're also going to see if there's a good deal on the
vacuum cleaner I want. We might go to Old Navy or Target or a few other places as well. It might be fun. So, that's the plan, unless the alarm goes off and we come to our senses and skip it.
We're going to do Frank's family thing on Saturday. For some reason, they are having two, one was today, but we wanted to be anti-social today, so we'll go to the other one. There's going to be fried turkey. I'm looking forward to it now, since I didn't eat any regular T-giving food today, other than a little bit of the turkey that was on the buffet (there was no stuffing or anything...just turkey), and the leftover cranberry sauce I had at home from the work party.
Well, if we're really gonna do this crazy shopping thing, I better get to bed soon.
