The workweek is almost over and then next week is a nice short week! Yay! I don't really have plans for the weekend, which is fine by me. I need to get some cleaning/de-cluttering done. Stuff is starting to get all piled-up and messy again. And I think I have to start letting go of some "big ticket" items like my old wedding dress, some collectibles I no longer collect, and a really nice leather jacket that's a size 12 and will never fit me again. Some of the stuff I could probably sell, but I wonder if I even want to deal with the hassle of that. I am considering doing Craig's List or Freecycle, but even that's more work than simply dropping the stuff off at Goodwill. The advantage of a Freecycle-type giveaway is that I know I'm giving it to someone who really wants it, it won't just be sitting at a thrift shop being pawed and prodded.
Homer Simpson made the Entertainment Weekly Top 50 TV Icons Poll.
Number Nine! Not too bad, considering Top 10 puts him in the company of such tv stars as Jerry Seinfeld, Carol Burnett, and (former Thursday night time-slot nemesis) Bill Cosby. It's also interesting how when The Simpsons first started, the main iconic character was supposed to be Bart, but over the years it eventually changed to Homer.
Some of my work friends went to The Police concert last night. I didn't want to go, since I've never really been a big Police fan, even back in the day when they were at their most popular. But guess who is coming in January: Matchbox 20, now officially known as Matchbox Twenty, AND Alanis Morrisette! A group and a singer I've been waiting to see for, like, 12 years. Tickets go on sale tomorrow...yay.
