This sore throat keeps hanging on. I stayed home from work Thursday, and went in on Friday. My throat was still messed up, but it wasn't worth using up another sick day. Plus, I felt like if I went in to work, I'd get back to feeling normal and I'd go ahead and do all the stuff I'd had planned this weekend. Sort of like when you were a kid, and you were supposed to go over to a friend's house, if you stayed home from school sick that day, you wouldn't get to go to your friend's house. So I was originally supposed to meet my friend Robin to hear about her trip to Malaysia to meet some chick she met on-line. Apparently it was successful- she seems to be head over heels! But I ended up deciding during the day that hanging out in a smoky bar was probably not best way to spend my evening, so I stayed home. I chugged some Airborne, drank some OJ, ate a grapefruit. I really was hoping to wake up today feeling fine, because I had a big party to go to that I did not want to miss. It's Candy's 40th, and it was going to involve renting a limo, going to The Breakfast Club (an 80's themed dance place uptown), and to a male strip club (okay, not really my thing, but it's not my b-day). But I ended up bailing out on that as well, since I still don't feel great. It sucks, since she's been planning this for so long, and it was going to be a blast.
Every once in awhile I start to cough, but it is kind of painful, so I try to hold in as much as possible. I wonder if I actually have bronchitis or a respiratory infection or something. Well, whatever, it seriously killed my weekend. All I did today was take Sandy to the vet for some shots, take a nap, and finally start reading The Ha-Ha. Robin may be having some people over to her house tomorrow, since there were some others who couldn't make it last night. I'll probably do that.
I wrote my first official press release as Marketing/Media person for PrideCharlotte. It was about a Volunteer Reception we're holding next Friday. It'll be a meet and greet for people to get to know the task force members, and hopefully...sign up for our committees!
