My "songs of the year" playlist for 2008. 16 songs, not as many as I had for
2007, but it seems like I haven't been listening to the radio as much.
In order (pretty much) of when I first got into the songs, not necessarily when they came out. Top 5 favorites are in Bold.
"The Way I Am" Ingrid Michaelson
"New Soul" Yael Naim
"You Can't Count on Me" Counting Crows
"Won't Go Home Without You" Maroon 5
"In Love with a Girl" Gavin DeGraw
"Not As We" Alanis Morissette
"Bleeding Love" Leona Lewis
"Viva La Vida" Coldplay
"Real" Goo Goo Dolls
"I Kissed a Girl" Katy Perry
"Love Remains the Same" Gavin Rossdale
"I'm Yours" Jason Mraz
"Come on Get Higher" Matt Nathanson
"American Boy" Estelle w/ Kanye West
"So What" Pink
"Shattered (Turn the Car Around" O.A.R.
Props to Pink and Maroon 5 for making the list 2 years in a row!
Albums I listed to a lot this year: the Mamma Mia movie soundtrack, Saturday Nights & Sunday Mornings (Counting Crows) and Flavors of Entanglement (Alanis Morissette).
Concerts I went to: Alanis Morissette & Matchbox Twenty; James Taylor; Counting Crows & Maroon 5
For 2009...U2 has a new album coming out, which I am really looking forward to. Hopefully they will tour, and come here. And of course, we already have tickets to Billy Joel & Elton John, so that will be fun.
