It's midnight, Christmas 2008 is now officially over, and although I've only been off from work for 2 days, my sleep cycle is totally messed up and I'm not ready for bed yet.
This was a very nice Christmas. I was glad we did not travel. We were supposed to have chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast, but ended up sleeping late, and the pancakes were postponed to dinner. We went downstairs and did our stockings and opened presents. My parents sent us a bunch of stuff- a bunch of items from the Salvador Dali Museum shop for Frank, and for me- Simpsons Season 11 DVDs, Macy's gift card, and some other things. Frank & I had originally agreed to one gift each for each other, although we both got a few things. I got him the M*A*S*H complete series DVD set, as well as the Swingtown Season 1 (or, complete series). Plus, after I got him the M*A*S*H DVDs (at Target), I was reading the reviews on Amazon.com, and pretty much everyone said the DVDs are great, but the packaging is crap, and many recommended putting the discs (all 36 of them!) in a separate DVD holder, so I got him one. He got me a book, a Jacoby Ellsbury shirt and...an IOU (since the actual tickets aren't printed yet) for all 3 Red Sox games in Atlanta in June! Yay! That will be our summer trip this year.
After the gifts we got dressed and headed down to the Community Center for the potluck get-together, which was really fun. There were about 12 people there, which was nice, because it was a big enough group to make it worthwhile, but small enough that everyone got to meet and mingle. Several other Pride committee members were there, plus some people I hadn't met before. My 7-layer cookies were a hit, and I got to bring home some of my Jello cranberry salad, which I forgot how yummy it is until I had some today. After we left, we stopped at a friend-of-a-friend of Frank's dad's, because he was there visiting, and they live really close to where we live. We stayed there a little while, then came home, had our chocolate chip pancake dinner, watched TV, played Wii, and just relaxed.
This was really a great Christmas! I posted some pictures on Facebook. Here is the link, it should work whether you have a Facebook account or not:
