Personal information:
Well Hello there! My name is B’elanna Torres, and I am Chief Engineer aboard the Starship Voyager in the Delta Quadrant. I'm half Klingon and half Human (my mother’s bloods the Klingon half of me, she tried to teach me the ways of the Klingons but I just wasn’t interested!) I was born on the federation colony Kessik VI in the year 2341. I am married to our Conn officer and part time nurse (he hates being called that) and official flyboy Lt. Tomas Eugene Paris and we have a baby girl, called Tora who is only 6months old. I'm happy here on voyager, happier than I ever thought I would be, and returning home is going to be a daunting task that Tom tells me we’ll face together!
Starfleet information:
Current Rank: Lieutenant junior grade (it’s a field promotion that Captain Janeway granted me when I came aboard Voyager. In Starfleet I dropped out after my 2nd year, so I only got as far as cadet, 3rd class.
2359: attended Starfleet academy. My academy professor chapman recommended me for re-admission, something I didn’t know until I was thrown half way across the galaxy!
When I dropped out of Starfleet, I joined the Maquis resistance in 2370, a rebel group of soldiers who faught the Cardassians, and served as Chakotay’s engineer until the Caretaker stranded us in the Delta Quadrant.
Family history:
My father was a Starfleet officer, who left my mother when I was 5 years old, so my mother and I moved to Kronos, the Klingon homeworld. I have been told I have a hard time controlling my temper and can be aggressive - although I don’t really agree with that assessment! I’ve learned to control my temper a lot over the last 7 years! In 2374 I was arrested on the Mari homeworld for thinking violent thoughts- I mean seriously what kind of culture doesn’t allow its people to think angry thoughts?
Personal achievements:
Um.. well over the last 7 years I have had my fair share of accomplishments, but notably I have built a robot, fully functioning and could I call it sentient? I suppose so, kind of like an android, but I had to shut it down! Which I have to admit really tore my heart apart.
In 2374 I adapted voyagers emh program for transmission over the Hirogen’s comm. network to the uss promethius, a federation Starship in the Alpha Quadrant - which at the time was taken over by Romulans but that is another story!
In 2374 I helped design and build our new shuttlecraft the Delta Flyer, the only other woman in my husbands life!
Right now I have to go and fix the shields, some unidentifiable alien vessel who wont answer our hails keeps shooting at our aft sensor array, its vaguely annoying! Hope this helped you all get to know me a little better!
