Post-Op
Mom Update: Okay, so apprently Group Helth sucks even more then it did when I went there, too. They didn't even do the surgry in a hospital! St. Pete's is famous for their orthapedit care, localy, and that's where 90% of mom's surgries have been (the other 10% having been up in Seattle), but this time they sent her to some strip-mall style doctor's office over by SPSCC right off the freeway. I didnt even know there *was* an office of *any* sort there, I just thought that road was a 7-11, a Jack-In-The-Box, and some crappy Buck.99 a month style appartments. But apprently there's a quack qualified profetional back there, too.
I took mom into the surgan's at 11:30 this morning, and they took her back within a few minutes and said she'd be in surgry in about 15 mintues, instead of the 30+ we were told. I was then told to come back at 12:30-12:45, not 2:15pm. I got there at 12:30, of course, and was kept in a freezing waiting room filled with wemon watching soaps with the most naxshus doller store perfumes you've ever smelled 'til 1:20. ::sighs::
Mom came though the surgry fine, though. She's been home for about an hour now, and is now napping. She's on percaset every three hours, anti-inflamitory, and ice every other half hour for the next day, then mixing vicidan and percaset after that. The nurse told me, and wrote the orders, that mom was to stay lieing down anytime she wasn't walking back and forth to the bathroom, but mom says the Doctor told her to move it as much as possible, and walk as much as the pain will alow from the moment she got home. ::headesk:: Well, I didn't even see the doctor, and I wouldn't put it past mom to make that up as an excuse to do whatever the fuck she wants, and she's just convinced herself it's the right thing to do. ::sighs:: Trying to keep her down as much as I can, and thankfuly right now, her pain is my friend as it's all that's keeping her in bed, but that probably won't last long.
Mom's napping for now, but I gotta wake her up every 30 minutes to put ice on, or take ice off, so I doubt she's gunna get much rest. Danika and Joe are out picking up her 'scripts and getting food, so I'm just going on-line while I can while she's sleeping. Probably gunna be off and on IMs a lot the next few days, so my IMs say I'm on-line, but I don't respond to something you've said, I'm not ignoring you. I'll respond when I get a chance, but it probably just means I've gotten up to help her and will be away for awhile.
