Like you, I've read a ridiculous number of contrary studies and reports on soy. It's hard to know the styarting bias of the research, or comment on the validity of any given report if you're not a student of such matters, so I'm always left feeling vaguely adrift.

I think, much like anything else, soy can be overused. I know folks who've developed soy allergies from eating a shit-load of it over the years (or so one presumes is the cause), and others who haven't. There are probably genetic predispositions to soy allergies, much like any other, and relying on a single protein source and eating lots of soy-based faux-meats etc... is probably a good way to end up with such.

IMO, making sure you have a wide assortment of protein sources, like pulses, grains, legumes, quinoa, etc.. can reduce the reliance on soy and help ensure a safer balance.

YMMV, No warranty implied, some settling of information may have occurred during shipping.

about allergies, i have read that people shouldn't consume certain foods... included in this list are soy, peanuts, and other nuts, and that overtime from overconsumption people develop allergies from them. the reason being that those foods shouldn't have been consumed in the first place ( ... )
