Second week in Richmond

Holy cow, two weeks since I moved to Richmond! How quickly did time flown by? There are lots of little things still not working in the new place at the moment, like the lights to both the kitchen and the lounge room aren’t working and the blinds doesn’t open or go up and down but at least I’m feeling more settled.

It will be two weeks this Wednesday since I emailed/rang the real estate agent about the repairs still required at the unit, so I think it’s time to give them another kick.

I’ll be ringing a disability centre in the Moreland area for a volunteer position similar (I think) to the one I had in Baulkham Hills on Wednesday. Hopefully, they’ll need someone to help out a couple of weeknights a week, it’ll beat sitting at home alone watching television…

A bit of the weekend was spent on building furniture I got from Ikea. And yes, I know Ikea furniture isn’t meant to be hard to assemble, but I still felt enormously accomplished by putting the table, chairs and tv benches together all by myself. Just as well Ikea has lots of cheap alternatives, between Colestock and moving, I came close to maxing out my credit card at one point last week! So no more big purchases for me for a few months but I think I may sneak down to Harvey Norman tomorrow to see about their 18 months interest free items and maybe get a couch from them.
