Of Louts and Laptops...

Reason #324 why I left student housing: Being woken up at stupid o'clock by drunks wanting to get in the house.

So, to the loveley lady, B, who lives in the private flat upstairs and her slightly intoxicated friends...

No, ringing the bells to all 4 flats at stupid o'clock will not gain you access to your mate's flat. Nor will it make you or your mate popular with the people who live in said flats. Morons.
On another note, my laptop died. It was a horrible, painful death.

Luckily it's insured. The wonderful people from Curry's/PC World are gonna try and fix poor old Dino (who, to be fair is only just over 4 years old, and really shouldn't qualify as old, but meh) ...I rather think they're not going to be able to: the chassis is all mangled, and one of the hinges is completely wonky. When you open the lid, the  front casing above the keyboard lifts up!

So, yeah...I suspect poor old Dino is going to The Great Big Scrap Heap In The Sky.

Rather sad about this, despite knowing I'll be getting a new one - have grown rather attached to the poor thing over the years. I guess a degree in Literature, Language and Creative Writing was just too much for it.

RIP, Dino.

gollum1971 and I are hoping to go to Southport today, should this beautifully unseasonable weather hold out. Just for a mosey round, no particular agenda except to  be less bored and avoid going stir-crazy! Volunteered for Summer School last week, which was fab, but now we seem to get restless a little too easily. Joy!

This might have something to do with the fact that we've got 5 nights booked at the Lake District starting 17th August, and we just want to be there now! Got an epically huge tent (sleeps up to 9) and we're looking forward to looking like planks whilst setting it up! The Kid Sister and her guy are coming for nights 3 and 4, and I suspect the 'Rentals will be, too...just waiting on shift confirmation.

I wanna go now. *must be patient must be patient*
