I have a few really close friends that also happen to be co-workers. Today, I came to the sad conclusion that I will not be able to let any of these friends access/know about this journal. You see...I am now officially *THE MAN*...THE ESTABLISHMENT...THE SYSTEM THAT'S BEATIN'YOU DOWN! Okay, it's possible that I'm being a tad melodramatic. ...but the pain remains. I'm a part of the Management Team *snort* now. I'm supposed to monitor and critique -- 45 reps. Ideally, they eventually want 10 reps. per Lead. ...which means that I am currently doing the job of 4+ Leads. Anyway...back to my original point. I plan on bitching extensively about work. ...which would cause obvious problems if co-workers were able to access these posts. SEE! ...I'm already thinking like a corporate drone! I'm worrying about every comment that comes out of my mouth...or keyboard.
PC BULLSHIT...
The first half of my day was completely wasted. HR decided that
we...ie...*MANAGEMENT* needed extensive training in what constitutes
workplace harassment. You know the type of *seminars* that I am referring to. I understand that businesses have to cover their legal asses. I just wish that they would give us a little credit in the intelligence department. Let me sum it up for you...*ANYTHING* can be considered harassment. Trust me...everyone knew this *before* the seminars began. We live in America...aka...Lawsuit Land! We are a society of victims. Frankly, I just want to load a boat full with these whiny, middle-class BABIES and ship them over to Africa. I want to see how they fare among the lions and tigers...and oh yeah...GENOCIDE! There was a segment of the instructional video where a **GROWN ASS MAN** actually complains/whines/sobs because a co-worker *teased* him about his lack o'hair. I had the almost overwhelming urge to scream *PUSSY!* at the screen. I managed to refrain. As a society, we encourage this type of drama. I'm sorry...this is just one of those topics that I feel passionately-pissy about.
I honestly don't feel like I accomplish *anything* at work. I spend 10+ hrs. a day answering random questions. I asked the other Leads if they had any tips on how to get projects finished over the course of the day. The *unanimous* answer was...YOU CAN'T! Most of the Leads have to finish their projects at home. DUDE!...I'm already working 50+ hrs. a week. I really don't want to spend an additional 15 hrs. **at home** trying to play catch-up.
Okay, I'm done...for now...
