The other day, I attended a barbeque that a guy from one of my classes threw with his wife. He was returning to school- he's about 40. He was in both my conservation bio class and my terrestrial environment class, and was in the Gym-pie group when were were kicking it around on Fraser Island. He invited all the Gym-pies and some other kids from the classes. He and his wife provided everything- we had deLICious steaks with mushrooms and onions, omg, a nice vegetable salad, wine and beer, STEAK (sorry, I'm wanting some red meat... mmm), and a great chocolate cheesecake for desert. His sister and her kids were also visiting, so we had a grand old time just chatting and enjoying ourselves. He does some landscape photography (www.greghoogstrate.com) and showed us a bit of his work. His wife had made anzac biscuits for us to all take home, and she drove us to the train station at the end of the night to drop us off! It was so great! Ahh! Such lovely people.
Right now I am, surprise surprise, supposed to be writing a paper. It is to be 4000 words on the weed *Lantana camara* L. Yaay. I have quite a few sources and have gleaning information from them. It's been going pretty well. I just wish I could fast-forward to that point at which it is done and I don't have to worry about it anymore. Le sigh.
It's not that I don't want to come home. I just don't want my time here to be over yet.
My heart is breaking.
