This just in--a "swot" in Britain is someone who works really hard at their studies. So, a vacation for studying really hard. Yay. So far, I've gotten a little done on my first paper. I haaaate paaaapers. Grar.
We had a study abroad session to cover all our leaving issues, including reverse culture shock. This is gonna SUCK. It made be pretty sad. Also, they were giving away winter hats with the UQ logo on them, but I didn't win one. Shade. Although, Yash and Gaia did, so that's nice.
Yesterday was such a nice experience. Ruth's grandparents are in Rotary, and they have friends all over the world, apparently. A couple in Brisbane invited her and some friends to spend the day on their boat- I was very glad she asked me! In addition, Jo (Zambia), Ditte (Denmark), and Morgan (Australia) ended up coming too. They provided lots of snacks and lunch, and beer and champagne too! They had a super nice sailboat, with bunks and a kitchen and all. We headed out from Moreton Bay into Horseshoe Bay off of Peel Island and dropped anchor, and spent the day chatting and jumping into the water. It was pretty clear and a very nice blue green. We saw dolphins, too, and played some music to try to get them to come back. :) Ruth and Ditte (Morgan helped too) taught me to dive! And I did pretty well! The weather was gorgeous. It was so... wonderful.
Tonight we had a photo swap night. Everyone left far too soon for my liking. I don't want to go to bed! It's 11, and I want to hang out more! With some people specifically... but everyone's tired or studying. And I said I'd get up for a 6:30 am walk with Ruth and Morgan. Le sigh. We'll see how that is.
I think that's all I can say.
