So it seems this is all becoming official -- I have a mailing address and everything. Should you wish to send a letter or explosive device, my address from August 27 to December 22 will be

I don't have my phone number yet, but it's probably best that I call you, anyhow, than to have you call on my cell phone and run up extortionate bills. I never know who pays for what -- whether it's the caller or the called -- so it'll be best for me to call from a phone box with a calling card.
In the meantime, I'm slowly but surely getting ready to go in a month's time. I'm buying new clothes now because I won't be able to afford a bloody thing over there (57p to the dollar still) and there's no sales tax on clothes in Massachusetts. I also won't be able to afford anything because I'm spending all my money now. Whoops.
My roommate, Chris, will be in Rome while I'll be in London, so visits back and forth will be in order. He speaks Italian, I speak English. I think we're also going to try to hook up for a weekend in Paris (how nice does that sound, by the way?) and really anywhere else that tickles our fancies. I have week break in the middle of the semester to go fart around and I'm thinking that I'll fly to Berlin, get on a train and head east to see where I end up. Who knows if I'll get back to London, but I think eastern Europe would be nice to see.
We researched Oktoberfest (no children under eight in the tents past ten o'clock; they won't enjoy the crowds, say the event organizers), but I'm thinking that accomodation will be a bitch because the world and his wife will be there at the same time. Bavaria can only support so many drunken American students.
Switzerland is on my list of places to visit before I go toes-up, but it's so stinking expensive that I think it's probably an impossibility. Someday, though. Geneva and Zurich are on the list -- they must be conquered.
Chris is hell-bent on going to Egypt; I think I'll let him do that one on his own. It's a little easier to get there from Rome than from London (just in terms of geography). He also wants to go to Greece. I'd be up for that. Mmmm... Greece...
Anyhow, I'm rambling. It's a gorgeous day outside and I have to go to work in an hour, so I think I'm going to take a book and enjoy this seemingly impossible 75° weather. Hope everyone's doing well and recovering from that heat wave... I know it was ugly there for a few weeks.
