It could be curtains or dishes

I bitched about the cold and I'll bitch about the hot. By the time my roommate Chris and I got to work this morning our shirts were soaked through. After using the air conditioner in our apartment for two weeks, our bill jumped $40. It doesn't cool down at night like it does in the Bay Area. I feel like showering four times a day.

I've been working the same job (and will be until it's time to leave for London) I got from the temp agency. The one with the chicken suit. It was supposed to be a one-day gig that has turned into a full-time summer job, and I'm actually doing something there that doesn't drive me crazy. I'm on the phone all day but I'm talking to interesting people, not deadbeats, and I'm having to use my French, which is fun. It's usually pigeon French matched with the other person's pigeon English, but we both appreciate one another's attempt. It gets the job done.

There are only two more performances remaining of our summer show, Arsenic And Old Lace, which is a shame -- it has become an integral part of our summer and has been a load of laughs from beginning to end. Loads of surprises from people on all fronts and a lot to be proud of.

The plan (as it now stands) is to go to New York the weekend of August 12th to see The Drowsy Chaperone. The worst seats in the house are something like $27 and we'll be staying at Chris's, so it should be a relatively reasonable trip. God knows I'll need the financial help once it's time to head to England in a month's time. Eek...
