Summary: Four times Donna almost remembered, and one where she did.
Why you should read it: I do not rec sad fic, ever. Unless, here comes the caveat, the story is fantastic. In this story, the team tries to give Donna what she needs and deserves, but some things just aren't possible. Donna's voice, her thoughts, are absolutely true to character. The writing is solid and engaging. This is Donna before she found her Doctor, and this is Donna knowing something is missing, even if she can't remember what. This is what the Doctor should have given Donna, the opportunity to choose for herself.
Though the story is definately about Donna, the Torchwood team plays a significant roll, and I, for one, wouldn't miss Donna's thoughts about Jack for anything.
