There is a latex-weapon dealer here called
Medieval Collectibles that sell
latex-weapons, from
coreless daggers (for $10 each here at the con) to $45 swords and $75 great swords, axes and the likes. They also sell LARP bows, arrows, giant latex-foam
mugs and rolling pins, carved wooden pipes, eye-contacts, leather and metal armor and all sorts of accessories.
Oh, and as for the weirdness, here's White Wolf's booth this year:
I know that The Grand Masquerade is their big event coming up, but it's like Ford coming out to the Detroit Auto Show and just putting out a booth that says "Check us out at The Ford Convention". Maybe they've cashed in all of their chips for The Grand Masquerade and knew they wouldn't have the funds for a large booth to show their goods to the general public for Gen Con, or maybe they wanted to make The Grand Masquerade more important by making it the only convention they'd sell their wares at?... or maybe they really don't have anything new this year and didn't bother to even try for anything more than throwing their own little party in the Gen Con exhibit hall. Who knows for sure.
Oh, and one last thing before I go.
