Well, day #2 of the new job went well. Hopefully it'll continue to go well.
Alltel has had this commercial for a week or two where it shows the Alltel guy is talking to the Mascots of 4 other networks (Verison, Sprint, Nextel, etc.) and tells them that his company's people can call them for free on the Altel Network.
Well, it would seem that many people wondered if they were the original actors or look-alikes, and this morning I noticed that there was a second or two of a "warning" screen, so I paused the screen and this is what it said:
So, anyways, I also had this strange dream last night...
I don't remember exactly how this one started. The first part was my friends and I were driving to Muskegon (sort of felt like Henry Street near the Sardine Room) to a movie theater. We went inside and lined out outside of the door to the specific room inside and after paying, we walked in.. and it was a bar/restaurant. Inside were 8 or so 36" flat screen TVs which apparently were where the movie was going to be played. I was displeased. "This is terrible! Small screens, and they don't have very good resolution." I looked more closely at one. "If the movie is dark, we won't see a thing!". The next thing I know I was in a school gymnasium where there was some sort of weird weight-lifting competition. 8 or so contestants. Each was handed barbells and such to lift to show that they were more-or-less able to perform the simple weightlifting tasks. Each stood on pedestals and wearing the typical "bodybuilder" speedo and such, like it was a real competition, but there wasn't any audience. Anyways, apparently there were some who couldn't perform the simple tasks. After that I walked with someone, asking about the bodybuilding and was shown the weight room. I looked at the equipment and walked around a corner where there were people eating pizza. They were standing around tables and they claimed it wasn't "normal" pizza, but procetta or something weird. For some reason I had a bag at my side, and in order to get around people I had to twist and swirl around the folks eating pizza. It was weird because it was more like I was propelled than moving on my own. So after that I got home. I seemed to be decorating some sort of structure (kind of like a swing set, or chest of drawers.. it was only about chest-high) with Christmas lights. That's when my brother showed up and said "That looks like crap." and re-arranged the lights. My mother was standing there and I finally had enough and started yelling at him for what an asshole he'd become... that he didn't care about others, that he was an arrogant ass, etc. etc. And he just sat smugly on the couch as I let loose a barrage of complaints about how for the past 5 years or so, he'd just gotten worse and worse. He leaned over the edge of the couch towards me not even caring, so I kicked him in the head. I went into the garage where my van was sitting. My mother headed out past me to the windows in front of the kitchen and, for some reason, started trying to scrape accumulating snow off of the windows using a car-window brush. As she's trying to brush it off, the snow accumulates just as quickly. Nonetheless, she keeps trying to brush the snow off, telling me that "it's too bad that the inventor of the snow brush died." and I blink at her and I'm like, "there's actually an inventor of the snow brush?" and she's like, "yeah, he was 70 years old. Before this, we had to use brooms". After a while of just moving snow around I head back to my van and open the passenger door (it's in the East stall facing out) and I notice the interior dome light doesn't turn on. I notice that the driver's door is left open and that my CD player (a portable CD radio) is still on. I turn it off and turn to my mother who's standing there. Apparently she was going to go shopping with Beth or someone, but since she couldn't go my brother was going with her. JUST as they're pulling out of the drive-way, I walk inside and immediately smell smoke. I barely see a light fog near the ceiling and so I start running around the house, trying to smell it out, but running through the dark rooms and down the stairs, I can't find it.. and as I turn on all of the lights, the smoke disappears and so I'm confused. I notice that the light over the kitchen table is out, so I open it up and see that it has two incandescent lights (opposite sides from one another) and two semi-circular fluorescent lights (also opposite each other). The two fluorescent and one of the standard lights were burned out, so I tried to replace them and found we were out of the fluorescent lights, and the standard bulbs we had were either too high or low in watts (and I knew that the bulbs would burn out quickly if they didn't match. The bulbs in there were 65 watt and the ones in my hand were 80 watts. So I decided not to mess with them and walked back out into the garage where I heard something odd. I walked out to my van (now outside in the driveway where it's sunny out) and notice that the CD player is playing still... and I don't recognize the sound until I realize that it's Ramstein's "Du Hast" playing like a tape-player with low batteries... (very slow). I also notice that the tape player beneath it is on "record"....
and that's when I woke up. ....yeah, it was that detailed.. it was a bit weird too.
I've asked for GenCon off (it looks like we'll be heading down late on Wednesday, since he seemed aprehensive about giving me Wednesday off too), so that looks good. 99.999% sure I can't make it to AC.
This weekend is FH. I'll be doing photography again, though they're calling for rain all weekend too, so we'll see how many pics I'll be able to take. Hopefully it'll be like last time and the day of the event they'll change the forcast and give us better weather.
WoD is supposed to be tonight. I don't know where it's going to be located, so I guess we'll see later.
Wednesdays and Fridays (for the next few weeks) I don't have to go into work until Noon (there's an intern in on those mornings and we share the computer), but they would like me to make a drawing of their business for a Tshirt logo, so I'll go in early (for more pay) to work on that. So, yeah.
