Telephone Woes

I took off from GH a little after 10 and got to Lansing by 11:30 or Noonish. As I passed the Breslin center, I saw graduates walking out, and so I called Taki. We decided to go to Clara's near the Capital. After negotiating some road construction, we all made it. I made the mistake of asking for a table for 6 and didn't mention that we had some larger folks in our group. They said it would be 45 minutes to an hour since we didn't have reservations. Well, about 40 minutes into the wait I went up to make sure they haddn't called our names and we'd missed it. I also looked around and noticed that the tables for 6 were their booth seats... and that was going to be very uncomfortable since they're pretty close together. So they had to do some re-arranging and we wound up standing out there for over an hour and 20 minutes (literally EVERYONE else was seated before us) and finally we sat, ordered and everything was fine.

Karren, Taki and I went back to Owen and I managed to get everything of Taki's into the back seat (and a few items into my filled truck) of my car. We ate some food from the food court, fed a squirrel, chatted and finally departed.

We arrived back in Muskegon, dropped off stuff at Munster's and took the rest to Phil's. I started to fade and crashed there on the couch for a few hours and woke up to realize somewhere between Munster's and waking up on the couch I'd lost my cel phone. X( Gah. Well, it's gotta be around SOMEWHERE so I'm not going crazy, but if they can't find it tomorrow, I'll call Nextel.

Anyways, after that we went to Cadillac Jack's and hung out there, where Scott and Phil got Corban fucking plastered (leading to they awful events of dealing with 2 extremely drunk folks, and one who somehow was able to handle himself... and that was Phil of all people!). At the end, I got Phil, Corban, Scott and Taki to Corban's car at CJ's and I came home.

Thus was my day.

Monday I start my new job at Ver Duins as lay-out graphic guy. 32 hours a week, working with Corel Draw. NO book store within 40 miles seems to carry any sort of "How To" book on Corel, which is frustrating becuase I've never touched the program before. Once I'm proficient with the program, I'll get paid more. :) *sigh* It's also an "At Will" hiring, which means he or I can terminate the job at any time for no reason. *sigh* Oh, well... let's hope it works out. I'll be creating and re-creating items for print. Whoot? Oh, boy... Typography.

No new artwork (yet), though I have some sketches coming up for some Craic Wisely Tshirts and some old commissions that are still due.
