It was a Sunday morning, peaceful like usual. The thin white curtains were softening the blinding light from the sun, which was trying to peek through the glass window.

Sunday meant no work. So, I was lying here on the bed with Toshiya, Toshiya, my wonderful Toshiya, who was still sleeping in my arms. I stared at his unearthly beautiful features and smiled to myself. I still couldn’t believe he’s mine now; every time I’d tell him that, he would bite my index finger and tell me that he should be the one saying it.

Do you still remember that night? I talked to him inside my mind.

He moaned softly, snuggling closer to me, as if he heard my question.

---

*It was an ordinary spring night; ordinary because I was drunk like usual, wandering at night like usual. A trash, that’s how I was.

But, there’s something about that night which was out of ordinary; my heart started to throb.

As if being pulled by gravity, I started walking through the woods in a normal pace, following the direction of the silver moon.

I walked.

Walked.

And walked, gaining speed with every step until I was running. My heart was pounding heavier and I was out of breath.

But still, I continued running. My feet were totally ignoring my mind’s will to stop, so, I had no choice but to keep on going.

I ran.

Ran.

And ran, gazing up at the moon from time to time, checking if I was still on the right track. My entire body hurt like hell and it felt like I weighed three times heavier than before.

But still, I continued running.

Until…

*I felt cold water on my feet, but I didn’t bother to look down for my eyes were set on a beautiful creature standing in the midst of the crystal-clear pond, half of its body underwater.

It was beauty at its peak, at its fullest, at its greatest.

Its body was glowing beneath the moonlight; as if the moon was born to watch over the stunning creature.

The contours of its body were perfect; as if god had molded it with his bare hands.

The wind blew ever so softly and its silky hair went on with the flow; I assumed he just got here a little earlier before I did since its hair was still dry.

As if on cue, the sakura’s pink petals started dancing on a tune the wind was playing by the time he gracefully looked up to the starry sky; I assumed he was waiting for those shining objects to fall down on him.

Watching that being is totally rejuvenating; I suddenly for got how tired I was, how worn out I was. I didn’t even notice I was sober again.

It’s as if everything in the world lost its worth, except it.

I felt guilty more than anything for calling that creature ‘it’; it’s because I couldn’t tell whether it’s a he or a she, a human or a fairy, a god or a goddess. I couldn’t even guess if it’s wearing something or not, I blamed the insufficiency of light for that. But that didn’t matter anymore as long as I can have my eyes on that beautiful form.

The breath taking creature was there, right before me. It’s so wonderful to the extent that I feel like crying; because I knew I didn’t deserve to witness such sight.

It was like watching a miracle in the making.

I was even scared to close my eyes; afraid that once I open them again, the beautiful creature would be gone. And my life would be back to normal; back to being dull and boring; back to being a trash.

My eyes got clouded with tears for having them opened for too long. As I closed my eyes, I felt my heart wrench; like something was burning in my chest.

But as soon as I opened my eyes, happiness washed over me. I couldn’t help letting out a sigh of relief, I tried to keep it as hushed as possible to keep my presence out of its knowledge.

Much to my dismay, or not, it heard me. It turned around to face my direction, looking for the source of noise.

Luckily, I managed to hide myself behind a sakura tree; my eyes never leaving the beautiful being.

It was then that I found out, it was a he. But I could care less if it’s that creature on the line.

Ignoring the sound he heard, he turned to the sky again. He clutched his hands together in front of his chest, slowly closing his eyes; as if communicating with his fellow angels.

Slowly, his hands traveled from the front of his chest to the clear water. He ran his hands on it, his fingers playing their own game in the process.

Leisurely, he submitted himself to the cold clear water. He swam like he was caressing the surface, every bit of him moving at full grace.

I wished I was the water, wondering how his body would feel against mine.

Just when I thought I couldn’t witness a more dazzling sight, he proved me wrong. With a single spell, he put everything into slow motion.

He pushed his head back as he made it back on his feet, splashing water around him with his hair. The droplets of water he created twinkled as they were met by the moonlight. The pink petals seemed to be in the climax of its dance with the wind, making the scene more captivating. As if woken up by his presence, the fireflies came out and joined the feast.

He stayed unmoved, probably savoring each bit of that beautiful moment just like I did.

I wished everything could stay as it is forever. I don’t know what was I to do with that man gone. Just the thought of it made my heart ache, what more if it turned to reality? I could feel my hear bursting any time soon. I clenched my fist. Please don’t let that happen. I prayed.

His eyes were opened before I realized it; wide opened as a matter of fact. He spotted me and stared at me wide-eyed. He quickly covered his bare chest with his arms and hid himself under the water just as fast. Only the upper part of his head was up the water so he can’t hide his flushed cheeks from me.

I did my best to flash him the finest smile I could ever produce; a smile which came from the most bottom of my heart; a smile only meant for him.

Realizing that I was of no harm, he slowly leapt himself up then walked towards my direction. But before he could make a whole step, he fainted.

I ran into his aid with all my might. I carried his limp naked body the newly-wed style then set him on the ground as we made it to the shore.

He’s heart was beating at a normal rate and so is his breathing. He’s face was too calm, needless to say, beautiful, so I guess he was just too tired.

I took my jacket off and placed it over his cold but flawless body. He has a smooth skin like no one else’s I have ever seen. I knew it just by looking; as much as I’d like to touch it, I know I can’t, I know I wasn’t not allowed to.

But I couldn’t hold myself anymore. I lunged myself onto him then took him in my arms; to give him more warmth, that was my excuse.

I lightly ran my fingers on his smooth face, memorizing every bit of it. I traced his full lips with my thumb, knowing that’s it was the best way I could have it, nothing more.

I stared at his closed eyes.

I could still remember how his eyes twinkled; I thought for a second that those two precious objects were made of heavenly beings. They were filled with a thousand and one emotions that can melt ones heart with one look. That was what those alluring eyes did to me; I couldn’t feel my heart beating any longer. How would it feel to see myself in those eyes? I wondered.

His eyes fluttered open.

Performing probably his best spell of all, he proved my heart’s existence. He looked at me straight in the eyes with a smile.

Now I could see myself in them, I’ve never felt such blissful moment before.

Then he bit my index finger for a reason beyond my knowledge.

That is…
