Lately we've been going to the Basketball games, if you're a compulsive away message reader, you've probally noticed that mine has said "Hofstra bball vs. some people" a couple of times within the past week. I know who we play, but i just like to mock my lack of sports intellect. The games are so fun... everyone gets really school-spirited there, which i fit right into, cuz lets face it- voted "Mr. School Spirit". (Although our mascots are sub-par, and sometimes i find myself wanting to steal their suits and do it myself.) It's good to see that every once in a while though, rather than the daily "Hofstra sucks" complaints you always hear spewing out of the rich kid's mouths. Our team is so good... they've won every home game this season, we just beat George Mason and Drexel, 2 very exciting games. It kinda reminds me of Dollar Dog nights back in Philly, cuz me and Shaun just heckle the shit outta the other team and their coach. ESPN tapes our games, it makes me feel that my school is important, that and the size of our court.
Alice in Wonderland practice has started. I'm going to be the white rabbit, which is perfect because I AM always late, late, for very important dates. Matt, the director, is a mad genius, he has all these surprises planned for the show, but I'm not supposed to talk about it. I really want anyone who has the means to be there! May 4-7 He asked if I had any objections to dying my hair white, and I don't, so come May... Brandon will be albino. I'm stoked, i never dyed my hair really, its gonna be BIZARRE but fun. I'm thinking thereafter I can dye it any color I want too, cuz its kinda like a blank canvas. This should give my dad a years worth of jokes.
Last night was bid night for frats... I got a bid to Sigma Pi! It was one of the best nights ever. First, I had to go to an interview which consisted of me, in a shirt and tie, being led into a pitch black basement. But even though you can't see anything, you know there are 20 brothers surrounding you, THEN, they shine a light in your eyes and u have to answer all their bizarre questions without looking away from the light. Hours later, they came over and did a fake out on me, which I didn't believe for a second, and then told me I was in. Then we went downstairs to get another rush... they did the whole "im sorry...you're not what we were looking for" fake out to him too...except they weren't. It was really awkward, espcecially because I had an irrepressable smile from ear to ear. Next, we went to the house and drank 40's. Afterwards, we hopped on the train to NYC with a case of beer. I've come to the conclusion you are allowed to be under age and drunk anywhere in the great state of New York. Then we went to this bar called "Porky's" and the brothers bought the pledges these fishbowl drinks which tasted like freeze pops. I remember the frat almost getting in fights with angry city folk a couple times, but I served as a peacemaker. WHERES THE LOVE PEOPLE?! Smile on your brother! I like all my pledge brothers, even tho last night was the first time i really talked to them. I guess I'll be seeing lots of them for the next month or so. All the frats brothers kept tellin us that our pledge class is the best. It's just an amazing feeling to be wanted so badly. I told Wils, its like I have a basketball team now, because hers is so tight. This morning i woke up and my face hurts all over, I think someone may have punched me? I'm nervous to start pledging but people told me to remember, it's all just one big joke. So to be strong!
