Is ANTM even fashionable at all?

Ok, I am sure this issue has been brought up a lot but I have never been able ask about this. I have watched basically every season of ANTM since it began. As time progressed and the more my taste level and knowledge of fashion rose I notice how very..."un-fashionable" ANTM continues to be.

I just baffles me that they cannot create a more fashion forward show with the very large budget I am sure they have. The photography is very seldom "high fashion" and the models in every season without fail are either daddies girl mall rats or know it alls who learn everything they know by flipping through any Vogue (or in some cases Teen Vogue) issue.

I am watching the new episode right now and I keep hearing these girls talk about how much they know about fashion and the industry. My questions is, why don't any of them know how to dress themselves or even look interesting? Fashion is a vain industry and they should know how to dress and carry themselves if they are so knowledgeable. I mean seriously, 75% of all the girls look like someone I could find in my local Wal Greens wearing spaghetti top, blue jeans, and flip flops (because apparently to them that is what fashion is).

Then I just saw the HORRID "couture" show they just walked with the "liquid metal" dress. Good God.

I want to know WHY they don't pick girls who can be models and are actually SOMEWHAT knowledgeable about the fashion industry. WHY don't they get some photographers that have an ounce of taste and creativity and once again WHY do they pick the girls they choose?

I know some people are going to ask, "Well why are you in the community if you don't like ANTM?" I am in the community to see how the winners progress in the industry (which doesn't ever happen because they haven't produced a good model yet). I also really enjoy AusNTM which in it's last season had some GORGEOUS, unique, and fashion forward girls.

Thanks for any help!

the show sucks, the shoots suck, rants
