When I walked into my apartment yesterday, it smelt kind of like gas.. but it sometimes smells like different things from the building, so I didn't really think too much of it. Today when I came back from work, there was *definitely* some sort of gas leak smell. I have a gas stove, so I assumed it must have been coming from that, and thought, "before I do anything.. I should probably find out if I'm going to blow myself up." So I called my dad, and he told me all about pilot lights. I managed to get to the insides of the thing and sure enough, there were two of them; one of which was not working. Without fire burning up the gas, it was just filling up my apartment. So *all by myself* I found a piece of paper that I used as a match, and re-lit the second light. Now it's working fine! And nobody essploded!!
This on top of the tire-pumping I had to do for my car the other day, and the cabinet I built on Sunday!

I accidentally ordered a subscription to Cosmopolitan.. I was thinking about doing it, and headed to the online "checkout" just to see what it would cost me all told, with shipping and the exchange rate and all that jazz.. it had an option for "bill me later", which I didn't expect, so I clicked that and kept going.. and ended up going through with it before I really thought about it. Weeks later, I got a letter saying that my payment was due, but I hadn't gotten a magazine yet, so I kind of figured that if I didn't pay it, it would cancel itself, even though I kind of suspected it wouldn't. Well, today I got a magazine. One that I actually already bought... So I went over the letter again, and the due date is January 26th. I'm just going to have to suck it up and pay. I'm sure that I'd buy every episode anyway, so I may as well do it for special extra reduced rates and savings extreme as-much-as-you-can.
