We had my parents and the Bach's over last weekend. I busted out the Creme Brulee set, and even though I wasn't exactly anticipating it asking for an hour wait to chill all went well. We do like having them over on occasion, it will be one of the few things that I'll miss about moving. Since that point we went on a bit of a mini kick on it, and have effectively used up all of the mixes for it since that point. The little torch I got with it doesn't last very long, and required a lot of refills with the butane. At one point I didn't wait long enough between the refill and actually torching the thing, which prompted a loud whooshing sound, and my hand and half of the counter engulfed in a blue flame that disappeared as quickly as it appeared. We had a good laugh and I decided to wait a little bit longer next time. We got the final people set for the wedding as well. We were going to use Jessica's brother and sister in law as party of the wedding party until her sister in law decided that working was more important. Fortunately we both had people who were willing to step up. My cousin Tom is going to be my best man, while Jessica's other brother Ben, my cousin Amanda's husband Eric, and one of my good friends from high school, Alan, will round out my side. Jess is going to have her sister Cassie be her best woman (maid of honor I think?), with my cousin Amanda, and a pair of her college friend Kate and Nakisha complete her side. We went tux hunting on Monday. It looks like a choice between Tuxedo Junction and Men's warehouse. Apparently a lot of places have either shut down, or moved without telling anyone because we also spent half our time driving in big circles or showing up to places that no longer exist. I've still avoided being sick at all this winter. I'm sort of afraid to even mention it, because I feel like I am running on borrowed time now, but outside of the fact that I've got all this cold medicine in anticipation of it, it would be nice if I could make it the whole way with nothing more then the sniffles. Oh, I also saw the movie The Lovely Bones on last Tuesday, and perhaps it was because of the lowered expectations, but I was really impressed with that film, much more so then Avatar, which may win best picture because it made the most money. Call it Gladiator syndrome. But go see it, you won't be disappointed :)
