My lovely fiancee is in Baltimore for the weekend, so I'm stuck here with the kitties. My plans of being super productive while she is gone have yet again been overcome by general laziness. I've been watching a lot of network movies instead, Mean Girls, U.S. Marshals, some other stuff. Right now I'm watching a documentary called Religulous. About halfway through it, and I must say, Bill Maher comes off as a real smug prick trying to see how far he can mock people for their beliefs and how long they can take it. It's really ineffective as a result. He would have been far better served examining all the horrible things people do in the name of religion. Otherwise, these people come off as sympathetic as they are interviewed.
It's been a while since we had a movie screening (Zombieland), and about two days after I showed a trailer for the move "Fantastic Mr. Fox," tickets popped up, and we are going on Tuesday! I'm pretty excited, it's always nice when we get a to see a film that we actually want to see. We've firmed up most of our holiday plans. In spite of the fact work had hired a bunch of people, I have no days off around Christmas, so rather then going to to Jessie's parents or sisters place, we are staying home. I don't like it. On my side, the changing of the guard is still in it's infancy. Of my generation, only 2 of us have kids. Of Jessie's side it's more along. Plus we've spent our last 2 Chistmas' on her side, and it's a nice tradition. I did get at least 1 extra day off for New Years, so we are going to go down to Virgina for that. Black Friday less then a week away. Crazy stuff. Crappy deals too, from what I've seen so far..
