A confidence game: KONY2012

I am not a futurist but I really had thought we had come to point where the industrial-military complex was united in it's aims for exploitation of the world and it's resources. But It seems the industrial-military complex is undergoing a scism. I am sure we've all seen signs of it before but I don't think it has ever been so evident before in recent history. I am talking East vs West.

Aljazeera: Dangerous ignorance: The hysteria of Kony 2012

The viral media campaign on Kony2012, is an attempt to persuade us that the West should put military forces into Africa. Joseph Kony is an African war criminal and rebel leader of the The Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA) famous for abuse of children and brainwashing them to use them as soldiers. No doubt about it. Kony is an ass and a complete waste of skin. However Kony2012, the viral campaign was created by hipsters. How is it that they are not aware that Kony guerilla forces were running amok in Uganda all the while backed by US and Mossad?

So what? So what has Kony do with any East vs West conflict? While the West has been wasting time and money waging war in the Middle-East on behalf of its Israeli partner China's commercial colonialism has been aggressively building up resources and making money in Africa. Some of the pointy-headed neo-liberalist's have finally realised this and panicked. Hence this rather obvious media scam: Kony2012. This would have been less obvious had not the CIA and their christian fundamentalist puppets not manipulated the Ugandan government to make Homosexuality illegal and punishable by the death penalty. Such a move by Uganda would have given the West the ideal excuse to come charging into Africa as liberators.

The Kony2012 viral media campaign is an attempt to get the West into Africa now. The idea being that if the West can not control and profit from Africa then at least they can disrupt any attempt by China to do so.

This idea is ludicrous and doomed to failure. China's management of commercial enterprises in Africa has been so aggressive they have not made many friends there. All the West had to do was back humanitarian, legal and Trade Union aid to Africa and China's appalling behaviour towards indiginients would slow down China's expansion in Africa with far less effort and cost than any military intervention.

So assuming the Facebook generation swallow the Kony2012 media campaign we in the West can expect to embroiled in yet another war on yet another front for the glory of the industrial-military complex. I wonder if any of the West's 'political advisors' read history? I seem to recall the third reich's empire-building ambitions were overreached trying to conduct too many wars on too many fronts?
